All GW’s New Releases Available Through January 18th

Here are all the new Games Workshop releases all the way from early December that are still available across platforms, with links to where you can still find them.

Most of these Games Workshop releases are orderable, but they might be low on stock or higher in price already on the secondary market. So be sure to check out all of the offerings and pick up anything you might want while they are still available…

Some of these may also still be available on GW’s store, but they are often cheaper when the allocations were favorable from stores elsewhere. Of course, if you can get them at your LGS at a discount, that may be a great place to spend your hobby dollars!

GW New Releases: December 11th

Legiones Astartes: Scorpius Missile Tank Retail Price: $60

Requests for heavy artillery have been approved. The Scorpius Missile Tank is ready to roll onto the battlefields of the Horus Heresy and provide fire support. Even if it fails to turn a Tactical Squad into a smoking crater, it may still leave them pinned and unable to act.

This multipart plastic kit builds one Legion Scorpius, a mobile artillery piece built on the Deimos-pattern chassis. This tank’s turret-mounted missile system is loaded with rotary racks of explosive rockets, ready to saturate whole battlefield zones with a whirlwind of shrapnel and flames. Its launchers can be assembled at a variety of angles, to suggest a devastating volley of direct fire or an arcing salvo of munitions that will wipe out all but the heaviest infantry.

In addition to its twin-linked bolter and smoke launchers, this kit includes components to upgrade the Legion Scorpius with an extra pintle-mounted weapon – a havoc launcher, heavy bolter, heavy flamer, multi-melta, or a combi-weapon with five configurations (bolter, flamer, melta, plasma, or volkite) – as well as a searchlight, a dozer blade, a hunter-killer missile, and cosmetic options like towing hooks, sigils, and a choice of a Space Marine gunner, spotter, or closed hatch.

This kit comprises 125 plastic components, and is supplied with a Legiones Astartes Vehicle Transfer Sheet containing 44 optional markings and icons for the Sons of Horus and Imperial Fists Legions. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly

New Chapter Approved 2023 & Battleforces: Pricing & Links

Arks of Omen: Abaddon Retail Price: $60

Available in standard and collectors’ editions, Arks of Omen: Abaddon kicks off the new story with a team-up between the eponymous Despoiler and the new daemon on the block, Vashtorr the Arkifane.

As well as spinning an epic yarn, Arks of Omen: Abaddon lets you take part in the saga of the Balefleets by introducing rules and missions for Boarding Actions – a whole new way to play Warhammer 40,000, offering fast-paced games set within the confines of voidcraft, space hulks, and orbital stations.

As the mainline narrative expansion, we’ve been hearing about this new series for a while, so it’ll be exciting to see the first book finally!

This box includes:
– 2x 704mm by 607mm foldable card gaming boards, printed with a different design on each side

In addition to the narrative, the new Ark combat should be a new and refreshing way to play, making normal games much more jam-packed and personal in all the tight corridors.

Chapter Approved: Arks of Omen: Grand Tournament Mission Pack Retail Price: $30

Fans of larger games also have something to look forward to in the Chapter Approved: Arks of Omen: Grand Tournament Mission Pack. This is the complete guide to matched play for the first half of 2023, with revised tournament missions, new and updated secondary objectives for every faction, and a brand-new Detachment that gives players much more flexibility when building their armies.

New rules to spice up competitive play is always great too! Hopefully, this can help keep the game open to creativity with tons of viable options.

This set includes the following multipart plastic models:

White Scars go all in on the iconic bikers and take essentially no foot soldiers! It’s hilarious… and on theme!

March of Iron Strike Force box Retail Price: $210

This set includes the following multipart plastic models:
– 1x Iron Father Feirros
– 1x Primaris Techmarine
– 2x Redemptor Dreadnought
– 10x Primaris Intercessors
– 2x Iron Hands Primaris Upgrades frames

The Iron Hands also get a box and try to keep it on their theme by bringing in two Redemptors! Just be sure to get even more vehicles to go all in on the fluff as you expand the force.

– 3x Primaris Aggressors

The last new Space Marine Army box is for Salamanders, and it keeps it distinct with tons of bodies and tons of flamers!

Space Marine Heroes Retail Price: $64 ($8 each)

Each box contains a total of eight miniatures, including at least one of each of the following:
– Brother Vesta, armed with bolt pistol and bolter
– Brother Arteros, armed with bolter as well as frag and krak grenades
– Brother Lucien, armed with bolter
– Brother Seraphan, armed with flamer
– Brother Corphal, armed with plasma gun
– Brother Furio, armed with a combat knife

Each Space Marine Heroes miniature is a multipart plastic model, cast in red plastic and supplied with a textured rubble base. These kits are push-fit and push-off the frame – so no glue or clippers are required to assemble them. Each has a single unique pose and can be assembled with your choice of a bare head or helmet. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly

These unique characters are usually pretty interesting, so maybe pick up a few and see what you get! They can serve as great lieutenants in your forces or be one more model among a sea of infantry.

Black Legion dice Retail Price: $35

This set includes 15 six-sided, square-edged dice that measure 16mm along each edge. They are cast in black with a subtle pearlescent swirl, featuring pips in an aged metallic gold ink and the icon of the Black Legion – an eye transposed over an eight-pointed star – on the 6 face.

Dice are pretty straightforward; if you like the design or are a fan of the faction, then boom! Easy pick-up but keep in mind there are only 15 dice in here instead of the normal 20.

GW New Releases: January 15th

New AoS Slaves To Darkness, General’s Handbook: Pricing & Links

Some interesting prices are included in this one, just something to keep an eye on. However, it is nice to see the Slaves to Darkness finally get a rework, and the General’s Handbook should spice up the meta!

General’s Handbook – Pitched Battles 2022-23 Season 2 Retail Price: $50

Inside this 96-page ringbound book, you’ll find:
– Background material that shines a light on one of the continents engaged in the glacial battle with Thondia for dominance over the Ghurish Heartlands – Gallet, the Splintered Land

– The newest Pitched Battles battlepack, which you’ll need in order to fight Pitched Battles in the current tournament season. This includes the current army selection rules, an introduction to the Battle Ready standard of painting, and a complete list of official publications for use in Pitched Battles

– New realm rules for fighting in the lightless depths of Gallet, where inspiring leadership is key – including rules for empowering heroic commanders, new heroic actions, and a new spell and command ability available to all factions

– Three new core battalions and a host of unique enhancements to muster your army for the cavern-wars

The ring-bound General’s Handbook and layout of the battleplans have been designed so that the book can be folded flat to save space, while still providing an overview of the essential information to easily reference once the game has begun.

This book also comes with a card token board, which contains 14 double-sided tokens to use as objective markers and reference your battle tactics.

New balance changes are always welcome as a way to shake up and refresh the meta.

Vanguard: Slaves to Darkness Retail Price: $140 (Price Increase)

This set includes the following multipart plastic kits:

– 1x Chaos Lord
– 1x Chaos Chariot, which can alternatively be built as a Gorebeast Chariot
– 10x Chaos Warriors
– 5x Chaos Knights

All models are supplied with their appropriate bases.

Start the faction off strong, or add to an existing force! These Vanguard boxes tend to be a pretty good value for anyone looking to pick up extra minis.

Daemon Prince Retail Price: $80

The grand prize at the end of the Path to Glory is to be transfigured and granted immortality by becoming a Daemon Prince. This kit is a true banquet of options, including a range of heads with one for each of the Chaos Gods, a choice of weapons, and more. It even transcends game systems, with wargear options to use this unholy champion in games of Warhammer 40,000.

Finally available outside of the army box, everyone can finally get their hands on the new Daemon Prince for Warhammer 40k and Age of Sigmar!

Chaos Lord on Karkadrak Retail Price: $50

This multipart plastic kit builds one Chaos Lord on Karkadrak, an ideal unit for tearing through enemy lines and taking out the toughest of foes. Anything lucky enough to survive the Lord’s wicked blades will be torn to shreds by his mount’s claws. This kit comes with a choice of heads so you can personalise your army’s commander by fielding him with or without a helmet.

This kit comprises 22 plastic components, and is supplied with a Citadel 90x52mm Oval Base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly

This poor guy has been stuck in the start collecting box for a loooooong time, so finally seeing him release separately is a big upgrade.

Eternus, Blade of The First Prince (also Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount) Retail Price: $60

This multipart plastic kit builds Eternus, Blade of the First Prince – the immortal enforcer of Be’lakor’s will. This imposing champion of the Dark Master is mounted atop his rearing daemonic mount, the mighty Drakocephalus, and wields both a rune-marked deathglaive and a gruesome skull flail. His ornate armour is adorned with leering daemonic faces befitting the First Prince’s chosen agent, while four pennants hang at his back in a mockery of knightly glory, fluttering in the foul wind of the Cursed Skies.

This kit can alternatively build a Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount, armed with either a Chaos lance or cursed warhammer.

This kit comprises 71 plastic components, and is supplied with a Citadel 90x52mm Oval Base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly

This model is sweet! And with Be’lakor being so good, this model will hopefully do well right beside him.

Exalted Hero of Chaos Retail Price: $35

This multipart plastic kit builds an Exalted Hero of Chaos – an ambitious champion risen from the ranks of the Chaos Warriors. Clad in sinister armour with a cloak billowing in its wake, this model is posed with one weapon raised in a clear challenge. The Exalted Hero can be armed with either paired axes of the dark champion, or a rune-etched blade and Chaos runeshield – which can optionally be adorned with the chain-strung heads of slain enemies. The kit also includes the choice of a helmeted head with mighty horns, or a bare head with a flowing topknot and mutated spikes.

This kit comprises 13 plastic components, and is supplied with a Citadel 40mm Round Base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly

As a more basic foot slog leader, this isn’t a bad option (it’s cheaper to field too).

Chaos Chosen Retail Price: $60

This kit comprises 86 plastic components, and is supplied with 5x Citadel 40mm Round bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly

With the army box getting separated, Chosen are also in their own kit now!

Chaos Warriors Retail Price: $60

This multipart plastic kit builds 10 Chaos Warriors – the armoured core of the Everchosen’s legions, formidable on the defence and fearsome on the assault. Each Chaos Warrior carries a Chaos runeshield, and can be armed with either a murderous weapon – in the form of a sword, axe, maul, or hammer – or a long-handled, ensorcelled halberd. The kit also provides components to build one model as an Aspiring Champion with a unique murderous weapon and a choice of unique heads, as well as a Hornblower musician and a Standard Bearer with a choice of two banners and two Chaotic sigils.

This kit comprises 97 plastic components, and is supplied with 10x Citadel 32mm Round Bases. These miniatures are supplied unassembled and unpainted

This has also been a long time coming, but now the basic Warriors are finally able to be bought on their own with a new musician and standard miniature as well!

Chaos Knights Retail Price: $65

This multipart plastic kit builds five Chaos Knights – elite, bone-crushing cavalry sworn to the Ruinous Powers. These mounted warriors wield cursed lances and Chaos runeshields, outfitted with menacing armour and ornate barding. Cloaks billowing behind them, hooves kicked up in a charge, these models convey a terrifying momentum atop their warped war steeds. The kit includes components to build one model as a Doom Knight champion, who can be armed with a cursed flail or ensorcelled warhammer instead of a lance, and comes with a choice of alternate helmets as well as a unique runeshield and steed head. You can also build one model as a Hornblower musician, and another as a Standard Bearer with a large flag topped by one of five Chaotic sigils – one each for Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch, and Chaos Undivided.

This kit comprises 74 plastic components, and is supplied with 5x Citadel 75x42mm Oval Bases. These miniatures are supplied unassembled and unpainted

As the end of the old start collecting, anyone can pick up the Knights separately, and with more options than the once from that box to boot!

Ogroid Theridons Retail Price: $65

This multipart plastic kit builds three Ogroid Theridons – ferocious warriors who loom above most mortal soldiery. Each Theridon can be armed with your choice of brutal weaponry – either a two-handed goroan great axe, or a goroan falchion and shield. The kit also includes components to build one model as a Thorakon champion with a unique shield boss, and to assemble the other two models as a proud Banner Bearer and a horn-blowing Charge-caller musician.

You’ll find plenty of cosmetic options to mix up your Ogroid Theridons – the kit’s shields, pauldrons, and axe heads are entirely interchangeable, as are the five different faces and five sets of horns. There are also five Chaotic sigils – for Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Chaos Undivided – to adorn the Thorakon’s armour, and another five you can choose from to cap the Banner Bearer’s standard.

This kit comprises 96 plastic components, and is supplied with 3x Citadel 50mm Round Bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly

And finally, as the last part of the Army Box, the Theridons are now also available separately for anyone who wants to get them.

Slaves to Darkness Dice Set Retail Price: $40 (Price Increase)

This set includes 20 six-sided, round-edged dice that measure 16mm along each edge. They are cast in black plastic with white pips and the skull inside an eight-pointed star icon of the Slaves to Darkness emblazoned on each 6 face.

And as with most updates, you can get this new set of dice to commemorate the release if you need more D6s in your life.

White Dwarf Issue 484 Retail Price: $11

The first instalment of White Dwarf for 2023 is a bumper issue full of Boarding Actions content that sheds new light on this game mode and introduces missions and rules to fight battles on a warp-touched space hulk. There are also plenty of extra rules and articles covering your other favourite Warhammer games in this action packed issue.
