Even more, previews are on the way from GW tomorrow. Check out what we may be seeing revealed for the Warhammer hobby from Games Workshop!
If you didn’t already know, GW isn’t done dropping new reveals. They’re taking to the web once again this Saturday, April 18th, to lay out some other releases we’ll be seeing once the virus dies down a bit. So let’s talk about what’s on the menu for what we could be seeing.
What’s Left for GW To Reveal (That We Know Of)?
There could always be more lurking in the shadows than we ever realize. But for the things that were first mentioned as rumors and are now looking to have quite a bit of weight behind them, here’s what we might be seeing in this next preview wave.
Sons of Behemat Models
During the last preview, GW confirmed the Sons of Behemat for Age of Sigmar. However, they didn’t show any models- just some very vague artwork.
Three Gargants were mentioned in the story, The Kraken-Eater, The Warstomper, and The Gatebreaker. Well, if you pay close attention to the artwork in the video, they match up. It looks like these are the next three unique models headed to the faction.
As we look forward to the third online preview wave from GW, hopefully, we’ll be able to lay eyes on some physical models. Who knows, we may be able to slim down the list of unconfirmed rumor engines as well.
More Lumineth Realm-Lords Are Still Out There
First seen at 2020’s GAMA, These pics popped up during some kind of “designer’s commentary” sort of announcement. But looking at this Aelf from above, she seems to maybe be some kind of Oracle.
For the chalice, we can see what looks like a sleeve/hand holding the bottom while some mystery smoke blows in the same direction as the lady’s veil above.
During GW’s first wave of online previews, we saw her full model appear in a video. You can see that she’s got an enormous headdress, is holding the chalice, and is covered in black robes. We’ve also gotten her name, revealed to be Scinari Cathallar, which means we’ll only be able to include one of her in the army. But we still don’t know what role she’ll play and we haven’t gotten a clean, up-close look at the unit either.
On top of a named Realm-Lord, there is also some kind of weapon hiding in the shadows for the Alarith Stoneguard. Check out the hammers. Their equipment is longer and painted blue, almost like a gemstone. You can also see a sharp bit of the hammer on the model to the right.
These hammers, whatever they’re made out of are definitely long. You can also see a Stoneguard dude hoisting his hammer over his head behind a Spirit of the Mountain.
So, even after weeks of seeing Realm-Lords, GW still isn’t done revealing new stuff for them.
Warhammer 40k: Agents of Bile Models?
For the past week, we’ve been seeing more and more on what Fabius is doing. We know he’s on Cadia now and has a Death Guard relic that they’re not too happy about him possessing. Typhus is on his ship chasing Bile while the Custodes are thrown into the mix. In the middle of all this, GW dropped a video preview showing Bile working on a fallen Custode and mentioning his “genius”. There’s a strong chance that we could be seeing a new unit emerge with the Agents of Bile faction.
So it sounds like Fabius is still not very good at making friends. But with all the dudes dropping dead on the battlefields, Fabius might have gathered enough pieces to start his own faction of grotesque creations.
What About Engine War?
We’ve already seen a fairly deep look into the units revealed for Engine War. But there’s a new object being mentioned called the Varlian device. We still don’t know too much about it. However, a short story on Engine War also gave us a little insight as to what we can expect.
‘What is hidden in Cargo Bay Ceti-78,’ Kroll said, ‘is called the Varlian Device. If you would have waited, you could have basked in the glory of the Omnissiah once I had revealed the true power of this machine. Now you shall only know its name. Be grateful for that. It is more than most of the priests on this ship are granted.’
The Varlian Device would see field tests in due time, and he could not allow sceptics like Belafont Kreeler to interfere with his great work. No one outside the Teeth of the Cog could know until the appropriate juncture. Xu Kroll turned to another vidscreen. It showed Cargo Bay Ceti-78, where a huge shape was safely tucked away underneath a heavy canvas. Yes, no one could know until the time comes…
Completely off the record here, but it sounds like it might be something like the Hammer of Dawn from Gears of War. It would be sweet to see a “device” call down laser beams from something like a death star.
We also saw the faction symbols for Engine War previewed already (Knight/Chaos Knights and Ad Mech/Dark Mechanicum). However, in a snapshot from a new video, it looks like there’s going to be Slaanesh and Nurgle Daemons involved as well. Maybe GW will be shedding more light on both of these things in the near future?
GW Previews Saturday, April 18th
Two days is Saturday, April 18th
Going off of what Warhammer Community put on their banner, we’ve got even more on Blood Bowl, Warcry, Horus Heresy, and BSF that we really don’t know much about.
If you don’t have a Twitch, we recommend you create an account and drop in at 2:00 PM BST. We’ll also be covering everything as soon as it gets revealed.
After seeing what’s still on the table, what do you think could be revealed from GW next? Would you like to see Fabius get a signature unit to drop with him as a part of his new faction? How many new Giant models do you think we’ll be getting for the Sons of Behemat?
