Finecast VS Plastic, which exclusive will be better? Take a look back at Cannoness Veridyan, versus the plastic Sister Superior Amalia Novena miniature!
Sisters of Battle have had slow support trickled into their faction by occasional model release (like St. Celestine) and finally, a beta codex. While we wait for more plastic models and a finalized codex to head our way, check out these two exclusive Sisters model (old and new).
Cannoness Veridyan- Finecast
Connoness Veridyan is actually based off the old 2nd Edition codex cover art by John Blanche. It’s not hard to draw a distinct comparison.
She was released back in 2016, came in Citadel Finecast. Finecast has a long reputation of being fragile and low quality. As you can see here the sword came miscast right out of the box.
While she might have been a pain to piece together, she looks fantastic and was a real glimmer of hope to true Sisters of Battle fans all those years ago!
Now let’s check out the latest announced exclusive.
Sister Superior Amalia Novena Announced-Plastic
Sister Superior Amalia Novena was announced as the next GW exclusive being available on Warhammer Day ONLY at GW stores (so far).
As well as the awesome new miniature, the Sister Superior Amalia Novena set includes an A4 art print of the original Karl Kopinkski artwork, and a Warhammer 40,000 datasheet for a Battle Sisters Squad, including the profile for a Sister Superior.
Unlike the Cannoness, she’ll be coming in GW’s plastic injection material. This should be a sigh of relief for hobbyists opposed to the Finecast material.
What’s even better is that it looks like she’s not going to be Easy-To-Build either. She may still be a mono-pose character. But seasoned hobbyists will definitely be able to pull off some custom conversions with her.
With a new Exclusive mini to hold us over until we see their Codex sometime before the end of 2019, let us know how you’ll be adding her to your list.
What do you think her rules will be? Will she be slightly scaled-up from the coming rank-and-file plastic Sisters? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
