Four New Warhammer 40k FAQs We Need To Start Playing Again

warhammer 40k Faq wal hor marine spaceThese are the four FAQs for Warhammer 40k that players may need to clarify recent new releases as well as GW’s yearly post-Adepticon update.

As we wait for gaming venues around the world to re-open, there may be a bit of a log-jam for rules clarifying FAQs since the cancelation of Adepticon and the temporary shutdown for Games Workshop.

The Deathwatch White Dwarf Psychic Awakening Support

We’ve already covered their rules, which came out in a White Dwarf edition earlier on. While any kind of rules support is helpful, a bunch of the rules were already out of date by using the old wording from the Space Marine codex pre-FAQs.

deathwatch white dwarf rules 5The Deathwatch have access to Stratagems like Duty Eternal (which uses the old wording) as well as Adaptive Strategy, which was outright deleted from the Stratagem list altogether in the huge Space Marine FAQ that knocked the Astartes down a peg.

With this being spotted, it looks like we’ll be getting an FAQ very soon after the magazine’s release. It just depends on when GW gets their team fully operational once again.

Saga of the Beast FAQ

Saga of the BeastSaga of the Beast brought Space Wolves and Orks in line with the power level of the current meta. However, this dropped right around the time that everything shut down from the virus. While a few lucky people around the world might’ve gotten their hands on a Box Set and books, there’s not really been any tournaments held to give a good look at the power of their new rules.

Big 40k 2020 FAQ

faq scheduleWarhammer Community announced their schedule of how they’d update their content a while back. Whenever a new book releases, we can expect some tweaks after (which we talked about above). However, what’s even bigger is that we missed our first big 2020 FAQ due to the crisis that ustually comes out post-adepticon!

FAQ the Unplayable Duo

custodes valerian and aleyaValerian and Aleya are the unplayable duo os Custodes and Sisters of Silence. The models are sweet but right now, they’re actually illegal to play in-game…

Thankfully, we do know that some kind of change is coming in Psychic Awakening that’ll make them fieldable. Warhammer Community had this to say after their release:

If you’re up to speed with all the latest rules developments in Chapter Approved 2019, you’ll notice that, by only having the Imperium Faction Keyword on their combined datasheet, Valerian and Aleya cannot currently join an Adeptus Custodes Detachment without the latter losing their Battle-forged bonus. However, you need not worry, for it won’t be long before both factions will be able to fight as one once more, when the Talons of the Emperor join the epic battles of the Psychic Awakening…

This will probably just be a merging of factions, perhaps in War of the Spider, but it could also just be covered in a future FAQ…

With potentially four Warhammer 40k FAQs pending on the table, what do you think will change in the days ahead? Do you think GW could go ahead and FAQ the Deathwatch White Dwarf for clearly outdated rules? When do you think we will see the first big FAQ of the year?
