The Games Workshop Warhammer 40k and AoS collectible coins promotion has produced dozens of designs; here’s a checklist guide to them all!
Updated December 3rd, 2024, by Rob Baer with new information and links to relevant content.
It’s been ages since the promotion kicked off, and we’ve seen dozens of those cool Warhammer coins from Games Workshop. If you’re thinking of collecting the whole set, just a heads up – the coin holder only fits 12, so you might need to grab a few if you can.
How Does The Warhammer Collectible Coin Promotion Work?
For those that haven’t heard about the program, it started in November 2020 with the Witch Aelves; when you spend $100 at your local GW store, you get the monthly coin (while supplies last). There is also generally a free Warhammer miniature to scoop up as well.
If you’re out of the loop, this program kicked off in November 2020 with the Witch Aelves. When you drop $100 at your local GW store, you snag the monthly coin (while supplies last) and often score a free Warhammer miniature, too.
Once you have collected six of the collectible coins from our store, you will be eligible to receive a complimentary coin booklet. This booklet is a great way to display and showcase your growing coin collection.

2024 Coin Releases
Snag your shiny new coin, and give us a high-five in support! Every qualifying purchase helps Spikey Bits keep the lights on and the fun going. You can get yours on Amazon or eBay
Warhammer 40k Aeldari Coin Spotted for Sale on eBay
While there’s not much context for this one, it’s pretty simple… It’s up on eBay!
A yet-unreleased Aeldari 40k coin is still up for grabs on eBay at carrying prices. We also saw something similar happen for the Orks collectible coin, which eventually got released. In short, this could happen any month now, but at this point, there’s no telling when we may even see it.
December: Underworlds
This month’s collectible coin brings a twist, featuring the skull logo from Underworlds in minted glory. With Underworlds and Kill Team getting a ton of expansion releases lately, this coin might be on your mind.
November: Da Red Gobbo
November’s collectible coin brings a festive twist, featuring none other than Da Red Gobbo himself, back in minted glory. In the “revolushonary” days ahead, these tokens are set to become the only real currency!
Plus, Da Red Gobbo’s A-bomb-inable Snowman hits on the same day, making this coin the ideal sidekick.
October: Kill Team Hivestorm Coin
This month’s collectible coin is all about Kill Team: Hivestorm, the launch box for the latest Kill Team edition, where Vespid Stingwings go head-to-head with Tempestus Aquilons beneath the looming Massif Ballistus.
September: Marksman’s Honor Coin
This Warhammer 40k collectible coin showcases the iconic Marksman’s Honour—a prestigious award given only to Space Marines who are dead-on with their ranged weapons. Don’t worry, though; you won’t need to pick off Tyranids from 50 paces to snag one (but you will have to spend $100 to get it).
August: Skaven AoS Coin
In addition to a free miniature, there’s also a collectible coin up for grabs. Given the recent rise of the Great Horned Rat’s minions causing chaos across the Mortal Realms, it’s only right that August’s coin honors the great and mighty Skaven.
July: Aqshy and Azyr 4th Edition AoS Coins
These coins are all about the realms of Aqshy and Azyr, perfectly timed to go with the new 4th edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
June: Slaves To Darkness
Fittingly, this month’s coin is minted in honour of the Slaves to Darkness, which count the Darkoath among their number.
May: White Dwarf 500
This month’s collectible coin is here to party—celebrating a whopping 500 issues of White Dwarf!
This coin will be available from May 4th, and it is perfect if you love the White Dwarf or just like its look in general!
April: Kroot
For April, a collectible coin featuring the Kroot auxiliaries was available at Warhammer stores beginning April 6th. However, they don’t mention the details behind this promotion. Previously, you could score the Citadel Warhammer 40k collectible coin of the month for spending over $100, but this month, all they say is to ask the staff how to score yours.
March: Dark Angels
This collectible coin features the Dark Angels insignia and will be available in stores starting on March 2nd, 2024.
This month’s collectible coin comes straight out of the Rock’s most heavily guarded vaults, flashing the unmistakable insignia of the Dark Angels. Fancy, right?
The good news is that the coin drops the same day as the free mini this time, so you can spend $100, get the Warhammer 40k collectible coins, and grab a free mini in just one trip!
February Black Library Coin
This month’s collectible coin is rocking the Black Library logo—because who wouldn’t want to rep the home of all that epic Warhammer fiction? Swing by your store and ask the staff how to snag your very own Black Library coin starting February 3rd—perfect timing for this year’s Black Library Celebration!
This is a coin a lot of people could want, as who doesn’t love reading about Warhammer? Just remember, you will have to spend $100 on this, but it drops the same day as the free mini this time, so you could go spend the $100, get the coin, and grab a free mini in one trip.
January Two Citadel Collectible Coins
This month, you’re spoiled for choice with not one but two collectible coins up for grabs (while stocks last, of course). One’s hyped for the upcoming Warhammer: The Old World release, and the other gives a nod to Ushoran and his creepy-cool Flesh-eater Courts. Hit up your store staff to find out how to claim your favorite!
If you’re picking up an Old World launch box, you can also get a coin to go with it! However, if you’re more interested in Age of Sigmar, you can grab a coin for the Flesh-Eater Courts.
2023 Coin Releases
December Legions Imperialis Coin
This month’s collectible coin is all about Legions Imperialis and hits stores on December 2nd (but only while supplies last!). Just chat with your local store staff to find out how to snag one.
Luckily this time around, the coin and free mini will be lined up, meaning you can go buy new LI stuff, get a coin, and a free Rhino!
Warhammer 40k Collectible Coins: November: Da Red Gobbo Coin
This month’s collectible coin stars everyone’s favorite festive mischief-maker, Da Red Gobbo! You can grab this little beauty starting November 4th (while stocks last, so don’t wait!). Just ask your local store staff how to claim yours.
It looks like you’ll have to go the week before the Cities of Sigmar stuff drops to grab this coin, but Da Red Gobbo Warhammer 40k collectible coin is just awesome! So we expect these to go quickly this time around.
October Crux Terminatus Space Marines Coin
This month’s collectible coin showcases the Crux Terminatus—the iconic emblem every Space Marine Terminator rocks, rumored to hold a fragment of the Emperor’s own armor. Available from October 7th (while stocks last), it’s the perfect addition for any Warhammer fan. Just ask the store staff how to score one!
September: Cities of Sigmar Coin
This month’s collectible coin tips its hat to the launch of the Cities of Sigmar, celebrating their epic arrival with style. Available from September 2nd (while stocks last), it’s a must-have for fans. Just ask the store staff how to snag one!
August: Realm Ghur Coin
This month’s collectible coin is bursting with primal savagery and ready to make a statement. Available from August 19th (while stocks last), it’s a wild addition to any collection. Just ask your store staff how to grab yours!
This time around, the coin will be available on the same day as the minis, so you can go in one day and get both.
July: Terminators Coin
This month’s collectible coin is all about the most legendary faction in Warhammer 40,000—the Angels of Death, the Adeptus Astartes, the mighty Space Marines. It’s up for grabs starting July 1st (while stocks last), so don’t miss out! Just ask your store staff how to get your hands on one.
June: Tyranids Coin
This month’s collectible coin is rocking a Tyranid theme, just in time for the looming arrival of Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan. Who could say no to the toothy grin of this creepy little critter? Available from June 3rd (while stocks last), it’s a must-have for fans. Just ask your store staff how to snag one!
May: Kill Team Gallowfall Coin
This month’s collectible coin marks the epic destruction of the Gallowdark in the final Kill Team expansion, Gallowfall. Sure, the space hulk was a nightmare mash-up of warped ships, but it also brought us some seriously awesome Kill Team battles. The coin drops on May 6th—just chat with your local store staff to find out how to claim one (while stocks last)!
April: Seraphon Coin
This month’s shiny collectible coin comes with some ancient mystique—rumored to be crafted eons ago by the Old Ones themselves. Adorned with the sacred image of a Slann Starmaster, it’s a must-have for any fan. Available starting April 1st (no joke!), just ask your local store staff how to claim yours (while stocks last).
March: World Eaters / Slaves to Darkness
This month, it’s double the fun with two collectible coins up for grabs! One’s rocking a Slaves to Darkness vibe, while the other’s all about the World Eaters. Both will be available in-store starting March 4th—just check in with your local store staff to find out how to snag yours (while stocks last).
This time around, you can actually score two coins, but we assume you would have to spend $200 to get both coins, but they don’t exactly say. That being said, if you want either of the coins, you’ll have to spend at least $100 to get it, but both are pretty cool.
February: Adeptus Arbites
This time the coin and mini are not synced up, so if you want the coin, go grab yours in early February. This is pretty cool, and with the new Arbites models revealed, it will be fun to have the coin.
January: Cadian Stands Collectible Coin
Keep in mind this is available at a different time than the miniature, so if you want it, maybe go in early, or you might be able to wait until the new Imperial Guard stuff hits. You will have to spend $100 to get this, and they are limited, so don’t wait too long if you want them.
2022 Coin Releases
December: Two Collectible Coins Arrive!
This month brings not one but two collectible coins to the table! You can rep your love for Warcry or crank it up and throw the horns with the Goff Rocker coin. Choices, choices!
Both look pretty sweet, but we assume you must spend $200 to get both. Still, it’s nice to have something for both AoS and 40k to choose from for hobbyists!
November High Lords of Terrain Coin
This month’s collectible coin pays tribute to yet another group of holier-than-thou figures with a flair for over-the-top headgear—the High Lords of Terra. You can snag this regal beauty in stores starting November 5th (while stocks last). Just ask your local store staff how to claim yours!
October: Cursed City Collectible Coin
October’s collectible coin is here, and it’s rocking a Cursed City theme. Unfortunately, it won’t help you bargain your way out if Gorslav the Gravekeeper catches you. Available starting October 1st, just chat with the store staff to find out how to grab this month’s coin!
The coin is pretty cool, and if you’re planning on spending $100 in October might as well grab this when you go!
September: Leagues of Votann Games Workshop Collectible Coin Promotion
While you’re at the store, don’t miss your chance to snag September’s coin of the month! This one’s also rocking a Leagues of Votann theme and will be up for grabs starting September 3rd—while stocks last, of course.
The coin is pretty cool and considering there seems to be a lot of hype around the new Leagues of Votann minis, it should be easy to hit that $100 requirement for the promo!
August: Honorifica Imperialis Coin
While you’re in-store, don’t forget to grab August’s commemorative coin, available starting Saturday, August 6th. Just ask the staff how to get your hands on one!
This is a much cooler coin than last month, so if you like the Imperium, then this might be worth picking up as you got to grab your free Warcry miniature!
July: Citadel Colour Coin
The coin this month is a little plain, honestly. Still, if you love Citadel paint, might as well grab the coin if you have the cash to spend on minis.
May: Chaos 40k Coin Promo
Ruinous powers rejoice! This coin looks sweet and simple and has the Chaos star on the front side.
Tyranids 40k Coin Promo April
Honestly, this is a really cool coin and uses some of the most iconic art for the Nids!
Necromunda Ash Wastes Coin: March
The Ash Wastes will be the focus for the next Necromunda box set, so while you won’t be able to spend money on that, it’s cool to see the Boxed Games grab a coin.
Orruks Warclans Coin: February
Did you catch the reveal of this year’s Store Anniversary minis last month? Fans can grab an epic Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and a Kruleboy Gutrippa Boss during their local store anniversary. And in honor of the mighty Haggok, this month’s collectible coin sports an Orruk Warclans icon—how’s that for smashing good fun?
The coin is for AoS Orruks, which is pretty cool, but we really were hoping for an Eldar coin to go along with the mini. But if you play the faction, then this is for you!
Tau Coin Promotion January
With the arrival of Codex: T’au Empire on the horizon, the fleets of the Fifth Sphere Expansion are gearing up to claim more territory for the Greater Good. Sure, they’ll happily try to talk you into joining, but those fearsome guns suggest it’s smarter to show you’re already on their side—like with this month’s commemorative coin!
This is one of the smoothest-looking coins yet, so if you play Tau, it will be hard to pass up. Obviously, Tau was probably supposed to be the new January 2022 release, but all release schedules at GW seem to be a bit off due to COVID-related issues.
2021 Coin Releases
Imperial Aquila Coin December
These coins are strictly first-come, first-served, so don’t miss out! Head to your local Warhammer store starting Saturday, December 4th, and ask the store manager how to snag the coin and miniature before they’re gone.
The latest coin we’ve seen comes with a GSC mini which is a little strange because it’s an Imperial coin. Either way, it’s pretty cool!
Red Gobbo Coin November
While this coin isn’t really for any which faction, it was a nice addition to your growing collection in celebration of the holiday season.
Black Templars Coin October
October’s coin was for the Black Templars and yet another one for the Space Marines. What should we expect though, lol.
Orks Coin September
We saw this one for months and months, so it was nice actually to be able to grab it! Well, you could have bought one on eBay a while ago. If you just bought the codex, you only needed to spend another $50 to grab the coin.
Grey Knights Coin August
This is pretty cool if you play the Grey boys, but the coin itself isn’t as exciting as the rest.
Stormcast Coin July
This coin focused on AoS as Dominion hit shelves. With this coin, you could finally grab the holder.
Sisters of Battle Coin June
The Sisters also picked one up with their latest release, which is pretty cool!
Ghal Maraz Coin May
This coin is the perfect companion to the Be’lakor, Lumineth, and Slaanesh coins from earlier this year—and that’s not the only treat waiting for you at your local Warhammer store in May.
The Soulblight Gravelords are on the rise, and while you wait for your elite Blood Knight cavalry to storm over the hill, you can pick up an elite Deathrattle Grave Guard as May’s Miniature of the Month. Fancy, right?
Be’lakor Coin April
The Be’lakor coin looks pretty sweet! If you’ve grabbed all of the coins up to this one, you’d only be one-off from being eligible for the coin holder, as you need 6 to qualify.
Lumineth Realm-Lords Coin March
March saw the release of the Lumineth coin, but again, there was no new stuff to buy when it was available. So hopefully you needed some other reinforcements for your army!
Hedonites of Slaanesh Coin February
January took a little break from the promotion, and we didn’t see a coin until February. The February coin coincided with the big release of all the Hedonites stuff and a free Daemonette.
Ventris Coin January
GW snuck in a new coin when they announced the re-opening of their UK stores.
Kicking things off, there are three collectible coins up for grabs—one for the Ultramarines, one for Be’lakor, and one for the Lumineth Realm-lords. If your collection’s been feeling a bit incomplete, now’s your chance to fill that gap once your store reopens. Just chat with your store manager to find out how to snag them!
But that’s not all—you’ll also get to pick your Miniature of the Month from any you’ve missed. Be sure to ask your store manager which ones are still up for grabs!
2020 Coin Releases
Warhammer 40k Collectible Coins: Death Guard December
This was the Games Workshop Death Guard coin, which was shown back in November but wasn’t released until December. As we said before, you must spend over $100 to add any of the coins to your collection. That kind of sucked for DG players because you couldn’t spend any of that hundred on new minis since they weren’t out yet!
Daughters of Khaine Coin November
The first of the Games Workshop collectible coin of the promotion was made to herald in the Morathi book.
This checklist should help you keep track of the Games Workshop Warhammer Citadel collectible coins. Remember to check with your local GW store for availability and details on how to get these cool coins each month and to see which ones they may still have available right now!
