New 40k Rules For Goremongers & Sanctifiers Units

Warhammer 40k rules Sanctifiers and Goremongers Blood and Zeal Kill Team box.

GW has dropped official Warhammer 40k rules for both the Sanctifiers and Goremongers from the Blood and Zeal Kill Team box.

Games Workshop just made your pile of shame slightly more tactical. The Goremongers and Sanctifiers from the Blood and Zeal Kill Team box now have full Warhammer 40k rules—and they’re not just pretty faces with specialist guns.

These units hit the table with actual purpose. Goremongers bring fast, flexible midboard pressure to World Eaters, while Sanctifiers show up in both Adepta Sororitas and Imperial Agents lists with enough fire, buffs, and Miracle dice tricks to punch way above their weight.

If you thought this box was just a skirmish kit, think again—these units are here to earn their points.

Why Goremongers and Sanctifiers Are Your New Secret Weapons

Blood and zeal 40k Kill TeamLet’s not pretend like you don’t already have too many miniatures on your painting desk. And yet, here you are—eyeing up the new Blood and Zeal Kill Team box like it’s the last doughnut in the box (if you can find one that is, as they were heavily allocated). Good news: this one’s worth making space for.

Between the mad dash Goremongers and the fire-happy Sanctifiers, there’s some serious potential baked into these units that can bring flavor (and flame) to your games, whether you’re pushing Khorne’s agenda or championing the Emperor’s cause.

The Goremongers: Fast, Furious, and Midboard Menaces

Goremongers RulesThe Goremongers are not your average line chaff. Sure, they’re more expensive than Jakhals, and no, you’re not rolling in bodies here. But don’t write them off just yet. That Infiltrators keyword? It’s pure gold for early board presence.

Combine that with their 9″ move and Loping Speed, and you’ve got a unit that plays peekaboo better than a Vindicare in a bell tower. They’re not built to tear through tanks, but light infantry? Consider them shredded.

Their real value lies in controlling space. By threatening mid-board objectives and harassing squishier units, they become a real pain for your opponent to ignore. Use them as blockers, bait, or objective sitters—whatever the situation calls for. Bonus points if your opponent wastes real firepower trying to get rid of them.

Sanctifiers (Sisters Edition): Faith, Fire, and Flexibility

Sanctifiers 40k Rules Adepta SororitasSwitching sides now—the Sanctifiers are weird, in the best way (whether they change the codex and army playstyle or not). They’re a mash-up of tools from across the Imperium, jammed into one tidy package.

In Adepta Sororitas, they lean into Acts of Faith with some nifty tricks like Holy Fire, which sounds gentle but hits like a hot barbecue in power armor. Two in a unit, rolling 2D6 auto-hits each? Marines have seen better days.

Sanctifiers 40k Rules Adepta Sororitas 2Their melee is no joke either. Pop a priest into the squad, and they start gaining Sustained Hits 1, which adds a spicy kick to their already solid close combat profiles. Want extra sauce? Toss in a Cherub, net an extra Miracle Dice, and flex that narrative flavor while gaining a tactical edge.

Sanctifiers (Agents Edition): Same Squad, New Tricks

Sanctifiers 40k Rules Imperial AgentsNow, if you’re more of an Imperial Agents player—yes, they fit there too. Same loadout, different vibe. Instead of Faith-based bonuses, you’re getting a more strategic bump: +1 to Wound in melee when a priest joins.

That’s a solid perk, especially when it means turning a few borderline punches into real damage. Plus, their Cherub gives you a free Command Re-roll for zero CP. That’s just good business.

Hobby Angle

Kill Team Blood and ZealFrom a hobby perspective, both squads offer loads of conversion potential. Want your Goremongers to look more tribal? Go nuts with chains and bone trophies. Want your Sanctifiers to look like secret Inquisitorial operatives? Add some purity seals and a sneaky servo-skull.

Unfortunately, these were heavily allocated… So, if you did manage to grab a box, good work; if not, you’re going to have to wait for restocks or individual box releases.

The Final Word

Long story short: if you’re building World Eaters or Sisters—or you just have an Imperial Agents side hustle—these squads are more than filler. They bring tactics, flexibility, and that little spark of chaos (or zeal) your list might be missing.
