GW Reveals 4 Limited Edition 40k Chaos Codex Books

limited edition codex book for chaos

The first limited edition Chaos Codex, for Emperor’s Children, arrives along with three more you can collect to complete a metal medallion.

If you’re a Warhammer 40K fan with a penchant for Chaos, things are about to get very interesting. The Emperor’s Children are making their grand entrance, and with them comes the final piece in the puzzle—each of the four Chaos Gods will now have their own Warhammer 40,000 Codex. That means it’s time for some truly over-the-top, Chaos-infused editions of these books.

Standard editions? Nice. Collector’s editions? Fancy. But if you really want to prove your allegiance to the Ruinous Powers, Games Workshop is rolling out four limited-edition Chaos Codexes—one for each god (look for reveals soon for the  Death Guard, Thousand Sons, and World Eaters). And these aren’t just books. These are blasphemous relics designed to make even the most devout Imperial players consider switching sides.

A Codex Worthy of the Dark Gods

Starting with the Emperor’s Children, each limited edition codex book is packed in an elaborate slipcase with a rip-apart design because nothing screams Chaos like having to shred your way into your own rulebook. Inside, you’ll find a numbered copy of the Chaos Codex exclusive artwork, making it stand out from the regular releases, with the Emperor’s Children up first.

What’s Inside

The gifts of Chaos don’t stop there. Each edition comes loaded with extra goodies to make your tabletop experience even better:

  • Six metal objective markers to remind everyone who’s really in charge of the battlefield
  • Five art cards depicting the kind of nightmare fuel only Chaos can provide
  • Datasheet and Stratagem cards so you can keep your dark machinations organized
  • A hardback folder to store it all (though, let’s be honest, it’ll still probably end up in a pile of sprues and half-painted models)

Collect Them All for the Ultimate Chaos Medallion

Now, here’s where it gets even better. Each of these limited edition Codexes comes with one-quarter of a metallic Chaos medallion dedicated to its respective god. Collect all four, and they’ll snap together (with the dark sorcery of magnets) to form the ultimate symbol of Chaos Undivided.

So whether you’re a fan of decadence, rage, decay, or convoluted five-dimensional chess, you’ll want to keep an eye out for all four.

How to Get This Codex Before It Vanishes Into the Warp

Like all good things in Chaos, this chaos codex won’t be around forever. They’re launching alongside the standard and collector’s editions, but once they’re gone, they’re gone. If you want to flex your Chaos allegiance in the most ostentatious way possible, make sure you grab yours before they disappear into the Warp.

And yes, before you ask—the medallion pieces magnetize together because even Chaos respects a little practicality.
