Here are all the new Eldritch Omens Eldar (Aeldari Craftworlds) and Chaos Space Marines Battle box set for Warhammer 40k- rumors and reveals!
Games Workshop took the wraps off of what may be the first Warhammer 40k Battlebox for 2022 on Christmas day that features Eldar and Chaos Space Marines.
Plus there also looks to be a new Age of Sigmar battlebox in the works that will be revealed soon as well according to Warhammer Community.
If you’re a fan of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, we will have a major reveal coming on Monday, pitting two allies of Order against one another in a battle of the elements.
Back to 40k, while both of these factions desperately needed reworks to their miniatures line, the Eldar having models dating from the 1990s probably needed them more!
Games Workshop did not disappoint this reveal either.
Eldar vs Chaos Space Marines Eldritch Omens Battle Box Set
We had been hearing rumors of a new Chaos Space Marines and an Eldar Aeldari Craftworlds Box set for a while now, most notably from day 3 of the leaks from the Aeldari discord.
Either way, with Eldar getting three new units in the rumored battle box set and Chaos grabbing two may be one of the most anticipated boxes of the year.
Let’s take a closer look at the reveal from Games Workshop on Christmas Day:
Warhammer 40k Eldar & Chaos Eldritch Omens Box
This battlebox contains 16 miniatures, a whopping 15 of which are all new. The 16th is a mighty, smoke-belching Forgefiend – the forces of Chaos can never have too many daemon engines. You also get a 32-page Eldritch Omens booklet that outlines the narrative of the battle for Daethe in the war-torn Nachmund sector.
Down from 25 miniatures in the Shadow Throne box set (which sold for $170), Eldritch Storm included 16 miniatures which are all new except the Maulerfiend!
New Eldar Aeldari Craftworlds Miniatures: Eldritch Omens
The Asuryani get nine all-new miniatures comprising Autarch Ghaelyn’s Saim-Hann force, including the Autarch herself.
Perhaps the more highly anticipated half of this box set are all the new Eldar Aeldari Craftworlds miniatures, but that Warpsmith for Chaos is looking hot too!
Eldar Autarch Plastic Miniature: Eldritch Omens
This kit has plenty of options, allowing you to build the Autarch of your dreams, with three head options, two torso variants, and certain other still-secret options! In terms of weapons, you get a star glaive or a scorpion chainsword in one hand, and your pick of four ranged weapons in the other. Not only that, the weapons and upgrades are cross-compatible with the existing Autarch model.
Looks like there is more to reveal for this model as well, but so far we know of at least three weapon options and one head. Judging from the video there is probably a Scorpion head variant as well.
Eldar Rangers Plastic Miniatures: Eldritch Omens
Equipped with long rifles and cameleoline cloaks which let them obscure themselves from enemy units, Rangers are the Craftworlds’ forward scouts.

Another Eldar staple has gotten new miniatures, this time the Rangers! Also included in the kit is a little icon of Kurnous, the god of the hunt. We would expect to see these models to be on the same 28mm bases that were included with the Howling Banshees when they were released in the fall of 2019.
Eldar Plastic Shroud Runners Miniatures: Eldritch Omens
Some of them prefer to zoom around the battlefield on Shroud Runners, which are Raptor jetbikes with a two-man crew – a Ranger pilot with a partner riding pillion.
Wow, what a cool concept!
We had seen these rumored recently in day 4 of the Eldar Leaks on Discord, but wow the miniatures do not disappoint either! Let’s start with the rumors:
Eldar Ranger Jetbikes Shroud Runners Rumors:
If this is true, these new Eldar Ranger Shourd Runner Jetbikes seem very strong. A mix of unique rules, buffed weapons, and of course signature mobility, mean this new tool might be able to help push the faction back into competitive relevance.
Reliable ballistic skill, unique cover rules, and a relatively low cost all seem too good to be true! We just have to wait and see as we know the models themselves are coming for sure now!
Chaos Space Marines Plastic Miniatures In Eldritch Omens
Seven miniatures for Chaos Space Marines are coming inside the Eldritch Omens box set, and the only models not new are the Maulerfiend / Forgefiend combo kit! Thumbs up for the followers of the Dark Gods!
Plastic Chaos Warpsmith Miniature In Eldritch Omens
This be-tentacled villain strides forward with his many mechatendrils outstretched, seeking out enemies or snaking to repair limping daemon engines.***
Okay well, not too much of a surprise here after all those Advent Engine images pretty much confirmed a new Chaos Warpsmith. But WOW what a beauty of a new sculpt!
So far it looks like two different head options, as well as two weapon bits, can be attached to his mighty hilt of smite-ing the followers of the False Emperor.
Chaos Space Marines Plastic Miniatures In Eldritch Omens
…joined by five Chaos Chosen. These Veteran warriors have risen above the rank of mere Heretic Astartes, and now manifest the gifts given to them. Outfitted with a range of weaponry, including combi weapons, blades, powerfists, claws, and pistols, this squad are monstrous combatants at all ranges.

Chosen Chaos Space Marines always seemed kinda subpar model-wise, but these new miniatures really step it up a notch for sure. With a little luck, there are more weapon options available for these Chosen Chaos Space Marines to be equipped with!
Chaos Space Marines Forgefiend / Maulfiend: Eldritch Omens
Finally, the Forgefiend – which isn’t new, but is awesome, and which can also be built as a close-combat Maulerfiend
Sure we have already seen this guy before, but perhaps with what we assume is a new Chaos Space Marine codex on deck as well in 2022, they could play a bigger role in the army!
Overall the new box set looks good, but if it is price pointed at $170 retail like the Shadow Throne and Hexfire sets before it, each model in Eldritch Omens will have an approximate cost of $12 each, up from around $6 each in those two previous boxes. That makes the roughly $3 a figure from the 2020 Indomitus launch box look like a steal.
There is no release date yet for Eldritch Omens, however, we expect it to hit store shelves within two to three months from the Christmas preview, and probably before the rest of the rumored Eldar model releases in 2022.
Other than that though, we think both Eldar (Aeldari Craftworlds) and Chaos Space Marines players are happy so far with this tidal wave of news and rumors for all things Aeldari- especially the Eldritch Omens Box.
