1st Place: Zachary Morales – Dark Angels Army Lists

At the Glass City GT, Zachary’s Dark Angels reminded everyone why the sons of the Lion are feared across the galaxy. Combining iconic characters, durable units, and heavy firepower, Zachary’s list wasn’t just a strike force—it was a wall of discipline and precision, cutting through the competition like a plasma cannon through ceramite.

Let’s look at how the Unforgiven delivered a victory worthy of their legend.

Zachary Morales 1

Zachary’s list was anchored by Azrael, the Chapter Master of the Dark Angels himself. As one of the most iconic characters in Warhammer 40k, Azrael brought a mix of offensive and defensive buffs to the table, ensuring his forces fought with the kind of discipline that the Dark Angels are known for.

Backing him up was a Terminator Librarian, bringing psychic firepower and utility to the list. Whether it was smiting foes or buffing units, this Librarian added a mystical edge to an otherwise pragmatic force.

A Techmarine rounded out the leadership, ensuring that the armored elements of the army stayed in fighting shape. Nothing says “We’re not done yet” like a Techmarine pulling out a spanner mid-battle to patch up a Predator or Vindicator.

Zachary Morales 2

Zachary’s infantry choices brought a perfect balance of mobility, firepower, and resilience. Two units of Jump Pack Intercessors added a much-needed dynamic element to the list, zipping across the battlefield to claim objectives or hit enemy lines with close-range brutality.

On the heavier side, a unit of Centurion Devastators brought anti-armor firepower with the durability to stick around and keep firing. These walking tanks are the bane of vehicles and tough units, proving that sometimes bigger is better.

No Dark Angels list would be complete without Deathwing Knights, and Zachary didn’t disappoint. With their iconic shields and maces, these Knights are the perfect answer to anything too stubborn to die from gunfire. A single unit of Inner Circle Companions also brought some melee power to the table.

The list’s firepower was bolstered by two Predator Destructors and two Vindicators. These armored threats added a mix of ranged devastation and battlefield control, making sure that no enemy unit was safe. The Vindicators, in particular, brought their demolisher cannons to the party, ensuring that even the toughest fortifications or massed infantry formations couldn’t hold out for long.

Zachary Morales 3

Rounding out the list were two Scout Squads, bringing cheap bodies and early-game utility to Zachary’s force. These units are perfect for screening, grabbing objectives, or just being an annoyance that opponents can’t afford to ignore. With their ability to infiltrate and harass, the Scouts added a layer of flexibility that complemented the list’s more powerful units.

Final Thoughts on Army Lists: 2024 Glass City GT

Zachary’s list wasn’t just about firepower or durability—it was about balance and synergy. Azrael and the Librarian ensured the army operated at peak efficiency while the Techmarine kept the tanks running and firing. The Jump Pack Intercessors and Scouts gave the list mobility and tactical depth, while the Deathwing Knights and Centurion Devastators anchored the force with their resilience and raw power.

The armored division of Predators and Vindicators provided a brutal counter to enemy armor and massed infantry, ensuring that no threat went unanswered. Whether it was holding objectives, destroying key targets, or grinding down the enemy in close combat, Zachary’s Dark Angels had a solution for everything.

These top army lists from the Glass City GT are a reminder that the Dark Angels can win if built with every unit having a purpose and every move is part of a grand strategy. With a little bit of finesse, they can hold their own against even the deadliest Adeptus Custodes and Space Marine army lists.
