Imperial Knights Painted Showcases: Freehand Knights From Dark Bunny
This project from Dark Bunny is both extremely unique and massive at the same time, these types of commissions come around once in a blue moon. The client had asked Dark Bunny Creatives for a custom Imperial Knight house to go with the navigator houses.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at the depth and fruits of their labor!
First up, we’ve got the uniquely green knight in the front and center. Amazing freehand work is all over this knight, the shoulders, the trim, the crest, really… everything. This knight alone may cost as much as an entire army!
There is also a pair of Armingers in the project. Each once again matching to a constellation. Both of them are also magnetized for easy use.
Custom Death Korps of Krieg Imperial Knights From Dark Bunny
What do the DKoK do when they need more guns? They put the guns on legs and tell them to march to the frontlines. Check out the basing details on each Knight. It looks like they’re walking over some trenches and right into dead man’s land.
Added atop the Imperial Knights’ shoulders, Forge World mortars are ready to rain down fire. Custom forged with a Wyvern howdah, the Death Korps mortarmen have a clear view of the battlefield around them.
The centerpiece of this Imperial Knight squad is the custom-sculpted Death Korps head, complete with a gas mask. This Knight Preceptor is based around the Marshall model, standing out as the leader among all the other custom Knights. The Mortar Knights have amazing custom respirators to capture the Death Korps feel as well.
Freehand Knights From GMM Studios
GMM painted up a crazy number of Knights with tons of freehand for this one!
Here’s everything they painted up for this project:
- Terryn 1 (5) – Traditional Terryn heraldry with a gifted Archon from the Mechanicum.
- Terryn 2 (3) – Terryn with a twist in the heraldry.
- Rebel Admech (14) – A dark version of traditional Admech
- House Aeschylid – Unique purple and white house to accompany a future Sons of Medusa army.
- House Yakuza – Koi, Samurai, and Sakura Knight. A fun and off-the-wall exercise in blending Imperial and Japanese inspiration.
Plenty for everyone, from the traditional Terryn to the wild Yakuza knights. All blended by hand over a solid basecoat, giving a realistic, deep, and smooth finish.
Bases are built out of clay for the most part. All resin pinned with 2mm brass rod and long torso rods for transport. Quite a few conversions and lots of posing work as well.
