These New Rumors For 40k, AoS & Old World Are Unhinged

Rumors chaos space marine wal horThere are some pretty wild rumors circulating on the web right now about Warhammer 40k, Old World, AoS, and more.

Whenever there is a ‘slow news cycle’, these types of rumors generally start to circulate. While we’re not saying some of them can’t be true, be careful what you read to either get yourself too hyped or really angry at something that may not even turn out to be true.

Wild Rumors Circling For Warhammer 40k, Old World, & AoS

Either way, it’s interesting to see what people are wishlisting for some of the big games out there; just don’t put a lot of reliability in any of these right now.

Wild 40k Rumors

This is a lot to go through, so we’ll try to write some out and categorize them by the different games. Let’s start with the general GW and Old World stuff. Again, remember, be careful what you read; otherwise, there may be some big disappointments. If you ask us, most of these don’t seem super viable, so don’t read on if you don’t want to add fuel to the hobby fire.

In fact, Twitter is already putting fuel on this fire to discredit them. So again, don’t believe everything you read on the Internet.

First off, these rumors say GW is going to replace all resin kits by 2025 to save on tax from the UK government. We’re really not sure about this, as they are still making new HH and Old World kits in resin. Are they releasing new miniatures to discontinue them within a year? Doubtful if you ask us. Plus, this would mean they would have to discontinue hundreds of kits or move everything to plastic, which we don’t see happening at all by next year.

Before we get into Old World, GW also seems to want people to collect a bunch of armies; that doesn’t really surprise us, but what company doesn’t want people to buy its products just to save on taxes? Who knows, maybe those taxes are worth a lot of money to bin an entire production material, not to mention an entire company division  in Forge World.

Old World Rumors

This seems strange unless GW made way more Tomb Kings kits than the Bretonnians. The Bretonnions have been sold out nearly since the inception of the game, and the starter set sold out way faster.

The next one could be possible, with Beastmen moving to The Old World to be another main villain. This lets GW add a lot to the game without doing a big rework like they would have had to for AoS. Their cut from AoS was pretty surprising, so maybe this gives a reason. But the truth is, they are already in The Old World as one of the core factions, in fact, since they were announced as such in 2023.

Lastly, GW has already said that Cathay and Kislev are far away from coming to the game, so nothing too wild there.

Warhammer 40k Rumors

Alright, this is where things really get absolutely wild (as if trashing resin miniatures wasn’t wild enough, right?)

Supposedly, the Ad Mech, Death Guard, GSC, and Space Marines are all losing units. Space Marines have been losing and gaining units for years now, so we won’t talk much about that, as it’s probably true in some way or another.

It’s a huge cycle that these firstborns and Primaris are in…

However, Ad Mech and Death Guard haven’t had many new units over the years. There is always a chance that GW will move stuff to Legends, as there are some odd units in those two armies. But for Ad Mech, they already had their 10th Edition codex, which means this is somehow over three years in the future, and that’s a pretty far-reaching rumor. Then, you have Genestealer Cults, who don’t have too many extra units per ce.

Now for maybe the biggest one. They claim Grey Knights will just be moving to an ally force. We wouldn’t read too much into this, as we don’t see why GW would take out a faction with a full range of units. However, they do have some older models, so maybe this is someone reading incorrectly into models going to Legends as they get a rework.

Then, they say Harlequins are gone completely; again, we don’t really see why they would do this. While they did get rolled into Aeldari this edition, removing such a long-time faction would be a wild choice. We were hoping for more, like the addition of the Exodites to the book!

One good rumor is that Imperial Agents are getting their own codex in Autumn; we’ve heard something similar before, so we will say this is possible and not too out there.

Age of Sigmar Rumors

age-of-sigmar-4th-wal-hor-2High Elves are now basically Lumineth Realm-lords, and they have recently just got a huge rework, so we don’t see them leaving the game. Dark Elves are a Legends faction in Old World, and we’ve heard rumors of a rework, so we’re not sure about them leaving the line either, but they will probably be reworked into a new type of faction.

Then, they say Fyreslayers are leaving the line as well. We don’t see why GW would do this, and they didn’t mention it with this edition, which means at least another 3+ years until the 5th Edition. Who knows?

Remember, it’s always important to take rumors with a grain of salt. While it’s fun to speculate and imagine what could happen with our favorite games, it’s important not to get too caught up in the hype or disappointment.
