Some pictures surfaced yesterday of a “new Space Marine”. Is this truly a leaked photo? Or is it just an elaborate conversion from a sneaky hobbyist?
This image surfaced yesterday across the internets and Miniwars has the scoop. Right now this image it’s sent a lot of people into discussion about whether it’s fake or not. Make sure you add a ton of salt to this rumor!
This photo shows what appears to be a huge Space Marine! Some people are referring to it as a new Mark X Space Marine, while others are saying that it was just a person with too much time on their hands, and a great conversion.
There’s a couple red flags when looking at this one. This is a screenshot of someones phone, first and foremost, don’t see many pictures getting leaked that still show a battery percentage and reception bar. The second and most obvious red flag is the huge black mark that looks like something was colored out in Paint.
Additionally, these 3 pictures were pictured with the original shortly after. This is obviously different Photoshop variations, but it just comes to show what people can pull off if they have the time and creativity.
Miniwars the posted a did a little breakdown of what discrepancies they noticed and made some interesting points.
Everything indicates that it can be a very well done conversion, although there are unresolved points. Is that gun a conversion, or the bolter is something new .. although despite the unknowns left by the image .. that breast .. and why is there a part of the image painted? He must hide a banner, or an ornament. The armor parts are too similar to a Mark IIIV Errant Armor. In fact it is strange because it seems that they have innovated more in the armor of Deathwatch than in this supposed new type of armor . Does not it seem all too familiar ?
One thing that was not brought up or mentioned was the possibility of the gun, or any other parts for that matter, being 3D printed. We’re starting to seem more and more 3D printed parts coming out. It’s a cutting edge technology that opens up so many possibilities of new models and never before seen weaponry. Is this a product of what we can expect to start seeing?
