New 10th Edition 40k Secondaries, Gambits & Missions Spotted in GW Livestream

These are all the new Warhammer 40k 10th Edition rules revealed on Twitch!

10th Edition 40k Secondaries

We’ve only seen a single mission in the core rules, so getting another one is always nice! This mission is interesting as you start with only three objective markers and set them up as the game goes on (it seems like all objective-type things are done in the shooting phase instead of actions.)

From the looks of it, you can only do them in No Man’s Land, so that should make for some pretty up-close battles. Perhaps more importantly, you score a decent amount for each objective, so get those down fast!

Warhammer 40k Secondary Mission Objectives

10th Edition 40k SecondariesNext up, we have three new secondary mission objectives, and they are pretty familiar. First, you have Assassination, and you have to kill enemy characters to score it, and you score 5 VP every time you pull it off.

Area Denial is all about taking the center, and you can score this even if you have no units there, as long as your enemy doesn’t. Lastly, we have Cleanse. This time, instead of doing an action, you don’t shoot in order to secure these.

Warhammer 40k Gambits

10th Edition 40k SecondariesLast but not least, we have the somewhat controversial Gambits. Delaying Tactics is pretty fun if you have the last turn, and you try to tie everyone up.

Evacuation is cool; you try to get all your units to the center of the battlefield and get them out. We saw Orbital Strike before, and you can always score the lucky 12. Lastly, you can always proceed as normal and not use a gambit, but where is the fun in that?

If you want to see the game for yourself, it is still up on Twitch as of this writing.
