Unboxing & Review
Grey Knights fans are getting tossed a bone with this box—and it’s shaped like a tiny sprue. The new Grand Master upgrade kit adds some much-needed flavor, but the rest is reheated from 2010.
If you’re into Dread Knights with extra bling and don’t mind your Strike Marines looking like they walked out of a time capsule, it’s a solid pickup. Just don’t squint too hard at the Codex or you’ll start wondering where Drago ran off to.

Is it Worth It?
Sort of… While it does contain a lot of minis and offers decent value (you essentially get the new Dreadknight for free), the strike squad models most likely get replaced at some point. While the Dreadknight will have the upgrade sprue, which comes with the Nemesis Flail and Sublimator, that’s about it.
If you’re starting an army, it could be a good way to get a force on the table quickly.
These minis are quite old, and there are rumors of new ones coming at some point, so if you’ve been playing GK for a while, we might pass and wait until new minis themselves hit stores. But, if you’re new to the faction, this has a lot of points inside!
How Many Points Is This?
Based on the current points, we would guess this box is somewhere around 1,100 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.

What to Buy Next?
Well, this already gives you over half an army! So, to finish it out, you’ll need some more characters to buff up your units, some more ranged fire support, and more Dreadknights. Venerable Dreadnoughts are also fun to throw down, or of course, you can just get more Terminators and Strike Squads and teleport around the board.
There is some solid value in the Grey Knights Combat Patrol box (although the models are dated too), but you do get Castellan Crowe. Plus you can’t go wrong with the new Grey Knights codex either.
Final Thoughts on Value
So, there you have it! The new Grey Knights Battleforce Box for 2025 is shaping up to be a solid buy for anyone looking to amp up their army, despite the models inside being almost two decades old.
With its great value and a nice mix of models, it’s like getting a leg up on the battlefield (pun intended) without breaking the bank.
