GW’s Jan New Releases & Nurgle Predictions

By Rob Baer | December 28th, 2017 | Categories: Warhammer 40k, Warhammer 40k Rumors

Great unclean one

January’s pre-orders have already spotted. Come take a look at new releases and our predictions on pricing for all the new Nurgle Miniature teasers.

Here are our predictions on the all the new unit’s pricing and composition that we’ve been seeing in GW’s teasers, and their 7 days of Christmas video:

Remember folks these are just educated guesses based on working out our hobby muscles in the GW trenches everyday.

Two New Heralds of Nurgle

These guys just look awesome, from Spoilpox Scrivener on the left using his own Daemon Blood for ink, to the little guy munching all the paper below him, up to the Slimer mouth on his shoulder. This guy obviously has something to say. 40mm base?

On the right is Sloppity Bilepipers the happy herald who again looks to be some sort of character or perhaps herald with an ability for either 40k or Age of Sigmar. Accompanying him on his shenanigans is DJ Jazzy B the dancing nurgling who is quite happy indeed. 32mm base?

I would put the guy at $25 each now, or perhaps they are part of a combo kit that would be priced similar to the Lord Felthius and his 3 blighty friends $40-$50 total.\

What looks to be Three Beasts of Nurgle with interchangeable top heads and hands (webbed and clawed)

Wow, it has literally be a lifetime for some hobbyists looking for a better beast model. We got the toads from Forge World a while back, but there was just something about the Beasts that kept folks coming back.

Well here they are!

I would say these will hit store shelves as a kit of three with interchangeable heads, “torsos”, and “hair” for $50 a box. Similar to Aggressors etc in pricing because you will need / want to buy multiples of them.

Blight Rider type models, again like the Beasts, appear to have a basic rider and mount type frame that can be changed out with different “heads” and or “torsos”.

These appear to have nothing to do with 40k armament wise, leading us to speculate early on as to the AoS slant to the release. Plague drones are $60 for a kit of 3, and I imagine these fellas will follow suit with that same style of offering this January.

And the big guy himself. The Great Unclean One that has been universally identified based on posting and weapon load out:

I could see this guy definitely having more weapon options just like his brothers the Lord of Change, and Bloodthirster do. Plus you can expect his price to match as well: $115 all day.

Coming Jan 6th:

Multiple retailers have confirmed the new pre-orders and prices. Let’s take a look at what’s coming up from pre-order this weekend.

Farsight: Crisis of Faith (PB) $16

Farsight Crisis of Faith Royal

A T’au Empire novel
Fresh from his victory on Arkunasha, the young Commander Farsight leads a crusade to reclaim colonies lost to mankind’s Imperium. But stiff resistance will test him to his limits, and beyond.

READ IT BECAUSE
Phil Kelly continues his look at the life of Commander Farsight with his first campaign against the full might of the Imperium, and shows how the T’au Empire’s technological superiority fares against Imperial grit.

THE STORY
The t’au are a mysterious alien race, diametrically opposed to the Imperium of Man in every possible way – in their mastery of technology, methods of warfare and social structure. Yet in galactic terms they are a young race, and naive when it comes to the manipulations of Chaos. When promising young Commander Farsight is promoted to lead a crusade across the Damocles Gulf to reclaim the T’au Empire’s lost colonies from mankind, the mood is one of optimism. With their mighty fleet, and superior weapons and machines, how can their endeavour possibly fail? However, despite a parade of early successes, Commander Farsight soon faces enemies he wasn’t anticipating, and finds not only his courage but also his soul tested to the very limit.

Vampire Wars: The von Carstein Trilogy $21

Vampire Wars Omnibus

A Warhammer Chronicles omnibus
The origins and legacy of the von Carsteins, most infamous vampires of the World That Was, are explored in this classic trilogy of novels that spans the centuries and three of the most famous scions of that storied bloodline.

READ IT BECAUSE
Vlad, Konrad, Mannfred – names that echo through history (and in the latter case, even into the Mortal Realms). But who were they, and how was their threat to the Empire defeated? Read this classic trilogy and find out.

THE STORY
The von Carsteins were the most infamous bloodline of vampires to ever stalk the Warhammer Old World. Their very names – Vlad, Konrad and Mannfred – were whispered in fear by the people of the Empire, conjuring up images of doom, death and destruction. Charting the vampire family’s rise to power in the shadow-haunted lands of Sylvania and their century-spanning wars with the Empire, this omnibus edition collects all three of Steven Savile’s classic von Carstein novels into one gore-drenched volume.

So this week it looks like we’ll just be getting the new White Dwarf and some Black Library releases.  Games Workshop might be taking it easy as we approach the end of 2017.

That’s enough waxing prophetic from us, as I am sure there will be more teasers on the way from Nottingham in the coming days, and at the New Years Open next Tuesday as well.
