Understanding Faction Packs & Warscrolls in 4th Edition AoS

What Are Warscrolls?

Ah, warscrolls, the magical (not always literally) blueprints of Warhammer Age of Sigmar! If you’re diving into the 4th Edition, think of warscrolls as your trusty character sheets in a tabletop RPG, but with a lot more brawn and a dash of chaos.

That’s a warscroll for you. Each unit in your army gets its own warscroll, which outlines everything from their movement speed (faster than your Monday morning jog) to their bravery (definitely more than you when you see a spider).

Changes to Warscrolls

The 4th Edition AoS Warscrolls are getting a major makeover. All unit actions will be turned into flashy abilities with color-coding and symbols to show when you can bust them out during the game.

• Every unit/model in the game now has a single page warscroll, with new icons, changed keywords, and more.
• The game now features a modularity of the rules. Everything a unit can do is now an ability, and these are clearly labeled, color-coded, and symbol-coded to demonstrate exactly which phase of the game each ability is used in.
• The biggest change is range; everyone can fight within 3″.
• Every Warscroll ability will have a color that corresponds to a certain part of the turn.

Warscroll Stats, Weapons, and Abilities

 

Stats: These are the nuts and bolts of your units, including movement, wounds, save rolls, and bravery. It’s like the unit’s health bar, armor level, and courage meter all rolled into one.

Weapons: This section lists all the weapons your unit can wield, from mighty hammers to enchanted bows. It includes the weapon’s range, attack, hit, wound, and damage stats. Destruction Battletome: Bonesplitterz

Wild, untamed, and utterly fearless, the Bonesplitterz are here to bring the primal fury of the savage Orruks to your games. This battletome includes ferocious warriors, shamanic magic, and enough warpaint to decorate a small village. Warhammer Age of Sigmar Legends Compendium

For all the lore lovers and history buffs out there, we present the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Legends Compendium. This is where GW puts all the units they are moving from the main line, but they don’t want to just erase from history.

Here are the rules for units that have been unofficially ousted from tournament play (including Warcry and Warhammer Underworlds miniatures) supported in AoS but are still totally fair game for casual and narrative games.
