Surprise More New Adeptus Mechanicus Coming in 2020!

lvo-revals-ad-mechSurprise, GW just debuted more new Adeptus Mechanicus models (I know right?) at LVO.  Check out the latest on the Pteraxii, and Serberys!

You may remember we saw another new Adeptus Mechanicus flyer not too long ago called the Archaeopter we saw at Open Day 2019. Now we’ve got more to add to the new model line-up. Check out the two new kits and a tease at the new Psychic Awakening!

The time is now, Games Workshop just previewed more of their 2020 LVO the Las Vegas Open.

We saw a ton of previews already from GW for the 2020 release calendar at the new years open, and have been hearing a ton of rumors about new point elves, Psychic Awakening and more.

Let’s start first with the Achaeopter!

Cult Mechanicus Archaeopter Stratoraptor & Transvector

Back in November, out of nowhere, the Adeptus Mechanicus got a new model!

“It’s not just the Ecclesiarchy that will be receiving reinforcements – the Tech Adepts of Mars are preparing to unleash their latest creation on the enemies of the Omnissiah. Look to the skies, for the Archaeopter is on its way!”

This archaic-looking aircraft can be assembled in one of three patterns – a gunship, bomber or transport variant – and will provide your Adeptus Mechanicus forces with a suite of new tactical options.

Looks like a few Rumor Engines have been identified including one of the most popular ones in recent memory, the revolving bomb rack!

Hobby heroes Sprues & Brews and Garro were at the event and shared some great pictures of the model as well:

As seen above the Archaeopter is coming with two variants. Here the transport version (what we assume is the “transvector”) appears to be on a knight sized 170mm large oval with a new flying stem of sorts.

seraphm primais inceptor stemsSimilar in appearance to the stems the Priamris Inceptors, and Sisters Seriphm use, those stems actually come in three sizes (45mm, 50mm, and 55mm respectively). From these pictures, it looks like so far, only one size of the large flying stem has been spotted.

Serberys: Sulphurhounds & Raiders

Now the Adeptus Mechanicus are getting even more new goodies! Here are the latest reveals from LVO 2020:

skitari rifle horse lvo 2020Say hello to the Serberys Sulphurhounds and their skirmishing brethren, the Serberys Raiders. Need something slain fast? These units are the way to go.

It would appear that these new units both come from the same kit, but act different enough that they didn’t just want the weapons to be wargear options. Perhaps, they have different special rules depending on which variant you decide on; Combat or shooting?

Pteraxii

Pteraxii lvo 2020

Pteraxii 2 lvo 2020These cyber-bird-men-things don’t just look stunning – they’re ideal support units in the Adeptus Mechanicus roster, capable of dropping in and picking off key targets while the rest of your troops advance.

Based on their appearance, I think it’s fair to say these may behave like faster, shorter range snipers. Perhaps they may have movement abilities and hopefully the ability to target characters through troops!

All of the rules for these units and the Archaeopter we saw earlier will be in an upcoming Psychic Awakening: Engine War.

Psychic Awakening: Engine War

Engine of warThis supplement will see the war for the Imperium’s soul kick into high gear, as Imperial Knights, Chaos Knights, the Adeptus Mechanicus and Daemons of Chaos battle amidst revelations of hidden sub-cults, twisted schemes and even more surprises…

Not much to say about it yet, but now that we know about it, we can expect to hear more news and hints about rules soon! Look for this to arrive in April if it follows March’s Saga of the Beast.

Wow, what are you excited about the most?
