GW Publishes Their Player’s Code of Conduct For Events

ITC-code-of-counduct-obey-tablesTabletop bullies and slow players beware, GW has published how they expect players to behave at their events- in their new Code of Conduct.

Let’s face it. People play games because they like to have fun. Whether it be in terms of competitiveness or fluff narrative, you and your opponent are there to have a good time. That being said, there’s no reason to be salty towards the game and your fellow hobbyists on game day. No matter if you win or lose!

The Player’s Code in AoS 3.0 rests right in the front of the new book, so bully and mean players beware- check out the new code!

GW Publishes Their Player’s Code of Conduct For Events

aos 3.0 core book

We’ve seen a lot lately about the different codes of conduct, with many tournaments coming back. We really like that they are emphasizing this because nothing is worse than playing against a terribly unsportsmanlike opponent. We saw something like this in the 2019 General’s Handbook, where they stated players taking part in a GW tournament will be given their own copy of the GW code of conduct.

So we’ll take a look back at that copy of the GW Code of conduct and see if they changed anything.

GW Puts Emphasis on the Player’s Code in AoS 3.0

Players code AoS Bit of brutal honesty here, if you can’t follow these rules, maybe it’s time you find a different game. These are all pretty straightforward and if you can follow these, you should really have some fun games in the time you share with your opponents!

While these seem pretty obvious, even at the top of the game, some of these are ignored for people’s own gain. The main one that always seems to stick people, is letting people see your dice rolls. The other one that people seem to have the hardest one with though, not complaining about bad luck, or your opponent’s good luck. We’ve all rolled bad, no need to cry about it.

We also like that they put the cardinal rules up top, meaning even if you forget the rest, please just be nice and respectful of your opponent.

gw code of conductThe rules from the 2019 book weren’t much different. Still, it’s always good to emphasize this, whether it be in competitive games or just games for fun! If you are planning on playing any ITC tournament this year, they did a 20-page booklet all about player conduct at those events as well that you can check out here

What do you think about the new GW Player’s Code of Conduct? Do you have a hard time not complaining about dice rolls?
