There is a long list of new and rumored releases on the way from Games Workshop for 2018 and beyond, but besides Orks what else is coming for 40k?
Rumors of Orks, Sisters, Primaris Marines and more are all out there as this summer was a hectic time for new release rumors and previews for the Warhammer Hobby.
The good news is that Games Workshop has already told us a lot of what’s coming throughout the rest of the year, so we went back and compiled all the new release information and rumors into one post.
The following is a compilation of what we know is on the way so far, and when we think we can expect to see it based off official announcements and of course rumors.
A Distinct Lack of New 40k Releases For The Fall
Now that we are moving into fall, we can see what’s next on Games Workshop’s agenda.

The latest release hitting the shelves will be Canis Rex, and Beasts of Chaos as players countdown the time between now and ORKTOBER!
Prior to 2017, there was always a 40k Imperial Armor released late summer (technically they followed this pattern last year with the Index: Imperial Armor) and a new Horus Heresy supplement around the holidays, which still happened of sorts with the new red book update.
This year instead, we got a price increase, Titancius, and previews of the Talons of the Emperor’s supplement that has yet to be released.
2018 Q3

- Knight House transfer decals Releasing Sept 22nd
- AoS 2.0 Beastmen models & Endless Spells Releasing Sept 22nd
- Warhammer Underworlds: Nightvault CONFIRMED Releasing Sept 29th
2018 Q4
- Orktober: Ork Codex & New models CONFIRMED
- Horus Heresy Book 8: Angelus/Malevolence (It appears they changed the name from Angelus to Malevolence)
- New Warhammer Underworlds Warbands Will be sometime after Nightvault release
- Warhound Titan 2 pack for Titanicus
- RUMORS Chaos model updates Initially spotted as a rumor
- Chapter Approved 2018: Will have Sisters of Battle Beta rules CONFIRMED
- Shadow Quest: Blackstone Fortress CONFIRMED Releasing soon (not sure what quarter)
- Gandalf model for Lord of the Rings CONFIRMED
- Christmas Bundles CONFIRMED
Chapter approved will have Sisters of Battle Beta rules as a means of allowing the community to playtest the faction. They want Sisters of Battle to be done right after years of hearing fans request for Power-armored Sororitas!
2019
- Sisters of Battle Codex
- RUMORS new Primaris models Initially spotted as a rumor
- Genestealer Cult Codex
- Genestealer Cult models CONFIRMED (already have seen Abominant)
- RUMORS Ynnari Codex Still a rumor
Delayed:
- Talons of the Emperor Imperial Armor (GK, Custodes, Sisters)
- Imperial Armor: The Fires of Cyraxus (written to 7th Edition 40k, needs a revamp per Warhamerfest 2018)
