GW Reveals New 40k Eldar Shroud Runner Rules

new-shroud-runner jetbikes rulesGW unveiled a couple of new 40k Eldar rules for the Shroud Runner jetbikes as well as what to expect in terms of rules in Eldritch Omens.

When they start releasing rules, you know it means the box pre-orders can’t be that far off (well at least in the best of supply chain times)! Regardless it looks like it’s a great time to play Eldar as they are getting a huge revamp of models and if even some of the rumors come true, it looks like they will be quite powerful as well.

Warhammer Community revealed two rules for the new Shroud Runners jetbikes and some other little tidbits about Eldritch Omens. Let’s check out the models and rumors, then get into the new rules!

Some of them prefer to zoom around the battlefield on Shroud Runners, which are Raptor jetbikes with a two-man crew – a Ranger pilot with a partner riding pillion.

Wow, what a cool concept!

We had seen these rumored recently in day 4 of the Eldar Leaks on Discord, but wow the miniatures do not disappoint either! Let’s start with the rumors:

If these all end up true, as it’s looking from the reveals from GW, these new Eldar Ranger Shourd Runner Jetbikes seem very strong. A mix of unique rules, buffed weapons, and of course signature mobility, mean this new tool might be able to help push the faction back into competitive relevance.

Reliable ballistic skill, unique cover rules, and a relatively low cost all seem too good to be true! We just have to wait and see as we know the models themselves are coming for sure now!

Shroud Runners Rules

On the tabletop, their cloaks billow behind them as they speed towards their enemies. This doesn’t just look cool – they’re so well camouflaged that it actually provides protection from incoming fire (plus, it does look REALLY cool).

The rumors said they would ignore cover when shooting, and get what appears to be this Shroud Runner cloak rule as well.  This is pretty nice if they do already have a 4+ save, then getting them in cover will get them a really great save, potentially even +2 which is kinda almost the new 3+ invulnerable in a way…

And thanks to their Swift Scouts rule, the Shroud Runners can also make a sneaky little pre-game move. Clearly, these scouts have earned their jetbike badge.

With their (rumored) 16″ move, this will seriously let you redeploy them and get them where you need to go. Plus, the rumors called this one, so does give them some credibility. Lastly, they said that there will be a 32-page book with rules for all the new units in Eldritch Omens, but that only makes sense.

But we’ve heard rumors that some of the Chaos models may still have only 1 wound at least until their codex drops that is…
