slaanesh 1

Now that the Orks only look to be a one week release, there seems to be room for at least one more BIG 40k release in 2018. Check out what may be next!

Rumors of Slaanesh, Sisters, Primaris and more are all swimming around the internet right now.

There are only a few more codexes yet to appear for Warhammer 40k, but there is still time for something BIG to hit in 2018 from Games Workshop.

Games Workshop has already told us a lot of what’s coming throughout the rest of the year, so we went back and compiled all the new release information and rumors into one post.

The following is a compilation of what we know is on the way so far, and when we think we can expect to see it based off official announcements and rumors.

GW’s 2018-19 Rumors & Release Roadmap LATEST

Now that we are moving into November, we can see what may be next on Games Workshop’s release schedule for the holidays.

++ This is not an official release schedule, so make sure you add salt for the release timeframes that have not been confirmed yet. ++

Still on deck from Forge World is the Talons of the Emperor supplement that was previewed earlier in the year:

Prior to 2017, there was always a 40k Imperial Armor released late summer (technically they followed this pattern last year with the Index: Imperial Armor) and a new Horus Heresy supplement around the holidays, which still happened of sorts with the new red book update.

So far this year, we got a price increase, Titancius, and previews of the Talons of the Emperor’s supplement above.

2018 Q4

Traditionally we have always gotten a BIG box game in November as the last 3 years have seen Calth, Prospero, and then Necromunda.  It looks like this year it could be the 40k version of Silver Tower: Blackstone Fortress hitting the shelves next.

We had also been hearing of “odd-pairings” of factions in sets that could range from starters to Kill Team box sets heading into the new year. We have already started to see some of this with the Wake the Dead, and Speed Freeks box set. Either way, it looks to be a win for hobbyists!

  • Look for Box Sets to line up with Codex releases
  • Box Set releases will be more common
  • They will contain unusual match-ups
  • Factions include Grey Knights, Sisters of Battle, Orks, Tyranids, and Space Marines.

Here’s what may be on deck for the rest of 2018 and beyond:

Chapter approved will have Sisters of Battle Beta rules as a means of allowing the community to playtest the faction. They want Sisters of Battle to be done right after years of hearing fans request for Power-armored Sororitas!
