Is The Cities of Sigmar Spearhead Worth It?
This box actually has great value! It basically gives you an additional 50% value (you get $217.50 in value for only spending $145), and for a GW purchase, that is pretty wild. If you want to play Cities (and especially if you missed out on the Army box), this is a great way to do it.
Either way, this is a decent way to get a Cities of Sigmar force on the table quickly if this is the only bundle you have access to.
How Many Points Is This?
If you’re wondering about the Cities of Sigmar Spearhead points? In games of Age of Sigmar, this box hits with about 500 points.
What to Buy Next?
You have a lot of shooting prowess in this box, so we’d grab at least one cannon, then start getting your melee troops! Throw in some cavalry, and you’re starting to have a pretty well-rounded force!
You can also just grab whatever you think looks cool. As the meta will change, but cool models stick around for a long time.
OOP 2023 Version:
The Out of Print (OOP) 2023 Cities of Sigmar Spearhead box was Sigmar’s little gift to new players. Released in October 2023, this set was packed to the brim with 17 models.
At a $145 price tag and an MSRP value of $218, it gave you about $73 in savings, assuming you actually needed everything in the box.
Models | Unit Name | Value |
1 | Freeguild Cavalier-Marshal | $60 |
5 | Freeguild Cavaliers | $65 |
10 | Freeguild Steelhelms | $58 |

Final Thoughts on the Fusil-Platoon Spearhead
The new Cities of Sigmar Spearhead box seems to be a straight-up win if you’re looking to jump into the action with a bunch of sharp-shooting, trench-coat-wearing, gun-toting minis. You’re getting 24 models, a cool commander on a massive Warhulk, and enough firepower to make your enemies rethink their life choices, all for way less than the sum of its parts.
So, if you’re starting a Cities army or just need more shooting units in your life (don’t we all?), this is one of the better boxes we’ve seen in a while. Add a cannon, maybe some beefy melee friends, and you’re on your way to causing some polite, disciplined chaos.
