New Warhammer Horus Heresy Pre-Order Releases
New pre-orders are here for The Horus Heresy Age of Darkness, bringing a tidal wave of excitement for all 30k players out there!
Fellblade Super-heavy Battle Tank
The resin giant from Forge World has leveled up into a plastic kit.
Hobbyists can kit it out with sponson-mounted laser destroyers, gravis heavy bolters, or lascannon arrays just like the old one. The hull’s twin heavy bolters can swap into a twin heavy flamer, and pintle options range from havoc launchers to multi-meltas. We think we will definitely enjoy assembling this version than the previous resin one.
MkII Assault Squad
We think nothing says “retro cool” like MkII Crusade-pattern power armour with turbine jump packs. This old-school Assault Squad brings that classic Heresy-era swagger and works great as a standard Assault Squad or as grizzled Veterans who’ve clearly seen some stuff.
Each kit packs 10 plastic marines with customization galore: bolt pistols, combat shields, power mauls, chainaxes, disintegrator pistols, melta bombs, and a healthy pile of grenades and pouches. It offers building options for days and is a better value than buying Primaris assault squads for 40k.
Journal Tactica: The Forges of Saturn
The latest Journal Tactica dives into Saturnine-pattern Terminator armour and Dreadnoughts, tracing their roots back to the Great Crusade. Vulkan later put his stamp on the designs, sparking some strong reactions from the other Legions, just before Horus decided to break everything.
This 48-page supplement mixes lore with new rules: Saturnine armour for Centurions and Command Squads, a daemon-soaked Terminator unit for the Word Bearers, and a shiny new Prosperine arcana for the Thousand Sons.
On top of that, it features a Legendary Mission pitting Salamanders against the Death Guard at the Dropsite Massacre, plus three asymmetric Onslaught Missions designed for storming dug-in defenses.
Legiones Astartes Combat Force
Starting a new Heresy army? This Combat Force box has a little bit of everything. There’s a Leviathan Dreadnought armed with ranged mayhem, choose from storm cannons, a melta lance, or grav flux bombard. A Rhino transport is included, too, so your troops don’t have to hoof it.
You get 20 MkVI Space Marines plus heavy weapons galore: 10 missile launchers and 10 heavy bolters. Whether you build Tactical Squads or Heavy Support, you’re covered.
We have a handy review breakdown of the contents and savings inside this box.
Mechanicum Combat Force
The Mechanicum box turns the dial straight to “robot army.” It kicks off with six Thallax Cohort troops, who zoom around blasting lightning guns. Two can swap into heavier weapons like multi-meltas or photon thrusters.
Backing them up are two Castellax automata with options for melee upgrades and shoulder-mounted guns, and towering over them all is a Thanatar Siege-automata with a plasma mortar.

Solar Auxilia Combat Force
This set brings 20 Lasrifle troops, a command squad that can morph into different leadership options, and two Hermes Sentinels ready for scouting or burning things with volkite or flamers.
A Solar Auxilia Leman Russ rounds it out, offering multiple turret and hull weapon choices for maximum battlefield bullying.
Once again, we have another handy review breakdown of the contents and savings inside this box.
New Middle Earth Battle Strategy Game Pre-Order Releases
The latest Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game releases are almost here! Packed with stunning miniatures, powerful heroes, and enough tactical options to keep you strategizing for days, these pre-order goodies are the perfect way to kick off your next adventure in Tolkien’s legendary realm.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim™
The book includes painting guides for different Rohan lords and step-by-step tutorials for Wulf’s Hill Tribesmen. Just remember you’ll need the core rulebook and Armies of The Lord of the Rings™ to play.
Helm Hammerhand, King of Rohan™
The king himself joins the battlefield, represented in plastic both on foot and mounted.
Fréaláf Hildeson™, Olwyn™ & Lief™, Heroes of Rohan
Three more heroes ride out: Fréaláf Hildeson, Olwyn, and Lief. Each comes in mounted and foot versions, so you can play them charging into battle or holding ground with the infantry.
Rohirrim™ and Hill Tribesmen™ Dice Sets
Two new dice sets let you roll in style. Rohan gets shimmering green with white pips, while the Hill Tribesmen get weathered bone with black pips. Stylish and thematic, no matter which side you’re on.
New Black Library Pre-Order Releases
The latest Black Library pre-order titles are here; they’re hotter than a Salamander’s forge! So if you’re into far-future battles, mysterious quests, or tales of heroism, there’s probably something here for you.
Voidscarred
Mike Brooks’ new novel follows Baron Myrin Stormdawn of the Starsplinters corsairs as he battles rival freebooters and navigates shaky alliances.
Voidscarred arrives in a lavish special edition complete with extras, plus standard hardback, eBook, and audiobook versions.
The Remnant Blade
Mike Vincent brings a Night Lords tale of betrayal and survival. Dalchian Rassaq, the Skin-Taker, has fallen from power and must claw his way back before his warband collapses completely. With only a renegade tech-priest and sheer cruelty to back him up, it’s a desperate climb.
Available in hardback, eBook, and audiobook.
Darkness Eternal: Stories from the 41st Millennium
This anthology brings 13 short stories from across Warhammer 40k. From tyranids and kroot to the Leagues of Votann, every faction gets a moment to shine or bleed. Writers include Nate Crowley, Justin D Hill, and Peter Fehervari.
Available in paperback, eBook, and audiobook.
Elemental Council
Noah Van Nguyen’s novel drops the reader into the T’au Empire as Ethereal Yor’i assembles a strike team from all four castes. Their mission? Snuff out a Space Marine-led insurgency before it spirals out of control.
Available in paperback format.
Final Thoughts On: Horus Heresy Pre-Orders
That’s a mountain of new kits, books, and stories, and every release feels like it’s pulling hobbyists in three directions at once. The Fellblade in plastic alone is a hard bargain, but then there are Combat Force boxes crammed with value, lore supplements that rewrite the Heresy playbook, and Middle-earth heroes stepping onto the table in style.
Whether it’s rolling dice with Rohan, painting a wall of Solar Auxilia, or stacking up a new Mechanicum robot horde, there’s plenty to build, paint, and game with.
New Horus Heresy Combat Force Boxes Review
What do you think of the new Warhammer Horus Heresy Combat Forces and more that are coming to pre-order this week?
The combat forces are a weird thing. The marine box in particular is actually quite good to pick up one or two of, as it contains currently the most powerful vehicle in the game: the rhino, along with some line troops and a leviathan. the SA box is probably the most efficient way to buy everything you need for that army as well. The mechanicum box is the one im most interested in though, as it is better than the crap Mechanicum battleforce box, and contains a good ratio of just straight automata in all the forms youll probably be taking. Plus they are all compatible with all editions of the game since 3.0 is DOA, so at least you can bring plastics to any version of the game you desire. Ill probably grab a couple Mechanicum boxes tbh.
