GW Reveals Death Guard Plague Companies Rules!

9th-edition-tex-&-books-death-guard-codex-titleEven more new Death Guard 40k rules are here as Games Workshop previewed the new Plague Companies and their rules!

Warhammer Community revealed this new rule to hold us over with the release being heavily delayed, but we don’t have too long to wait now! You’ve made it this far, you can make it a few more weeks. Just don’t forget to pre-order the new codex on Saturday the 16th of January, and catch up with us next week as we’ll preview even more rules, Relics, and Stratagems.

These rules are a continuation of the Plague Company stuff they brought in during PA. They’ve made some tweaks and are giving you some new ways to run your Nurgle boys!

Curiously these rules are changed from the previous ones found in the Psychic Awakening War of the Spider book, so its seems like those rules are being merged into this book/replaced /updated.

new-death-guard-rulesAs you all know by now, the book is being delayed until later this month, but you can still check out all the Death Guard rules previews that we have seen so far at the links below!

Harbingers the First of the Plague Companies

Plague Companies

Plague Companies 2They mention this will not be the only Plague Company, so if you don’t want to play with the OG company there will be plenty of others to choose from. Just to keep in mind also, they say this will be an additional aura, so you won’t lose any of the previous ones we’ve already looked at.

For now, though, let’s break down these new rules. If you run big units of Poxwalkers, getting to reroll all the hit rolls for one CP is pretty useful! Next, we were all upset about Mortarion and him not exploding in combat, but now any Harbinger Warlord can deal mortal wounds, not too shabby.

Lastly, the relic is interesting because you can make an objective harder to capture. But the bearer has to be within 3″ of it and still be alive. So not sure how impactful of a relic it will be overall.

After that, they mention the contagion rules again, but we’ve already covered all of those, which you can check out here.

What do you think about this new set of rules? Are you getting excited for the book to finally drop?
