Don’t miss the new Adeptus Mechanicus Skorpius Disintegrator & Dunerider 40k rules for the 9th Edition Ad Mech codex.
We knew that Adeptus Mechanicus were getting their time in the sun very soon and with the datasheets beginning to get spotted, it’s almost here! Let’s check out the latest datasheet and compare it to the current one.
We have also seen the Electro Priests, Walkers, Serberys, Dunecrawlers, Cawl, Pteraxii, Archaeopters, and Kataphron previously if you want to check those out.
Skorpius 9th Edition Adeptus Mechanicus 40k Rules
There was an IKEA-style sheet of rules spotted on Reddit, once again so let’s compare it to the old sheet and see what’s changed.
Old rules
New Rules
New Bonuses (Disintegrator):
- Belleros energy cannon -1 strength (was 6, now 5)
- Cognis heavy stubber now Assault 4 (was Heavy 3)
New Bonuses (Dunerider):
- Cognis heavy stubber now Assault 4 (was Heavy 3)
- Twin cognis heavy stubber now Assault 8 (was Heavy 6)
What we don’t know:
- Unique Weapon Rules?
- Blast?
- Data-tether?
- Transport slots?
Overall, the Skorpius Vehicles are much of the same, maybe slightly better. The Energy cannon losing a strength does hurt a bit, but considering the stubbers are getting simplified and an extra shot might make up for it. Hopefully, the Energy cannon drops in some points to help balance it out. Assuming it does both variants of the Skorpius easily are coming out on top!
Look for the Adeptus Mechanicus codex to hit store shelves soon, as it’s the next major codex release for 40k and going on pre-order this Saturday!
What rules changes do you want to see from the new Ad Mech? Are you happy with the Skorpius changes?
