RUMORS: Next 40k Psychic Awakening Book Is… Pariah?

space marines psychic awakening warhammer 40k title wal horMore mysteries are about to get solved in 40k, as the next installment of Psychic Awakening rumors has been spotted, and PARIAH is coming!

Engine War, and War of the Spider were discovered by “Port Scrying”, and now we have Psychic Awakening: Pariah (or perhaps a clever code name). Chances are this is legit, and here is why.

Now with that said, GW has also explicitly said that every faction in 40k would have some kind of role to play in Psychic Awakening. It would only make sense that we keep seeing more books drop until every faction is covered.

Port Scrying & Psychic Awakening Engine War:

psychic awakening engine warWith what looks to be a snapshot of some kind of GW product listing, this made its way to Imgur, and now we know not only that Engine War is legit, but how you can find this information for yourself.

Engine of war This supplement will see the war for the Imperium’s soul kick into high gear, as Imperial Knights, Chaos Knights, the Adeptus Mechanicus and Daemons of Chaos battle amidst revelations of hidden sub-cults, twisted schemes and even more surprises…

Not much to say about it yet, but now that we know about it, we can expect to hear more news and hints about rules soon! Previously thought to be coming in April if it followed March’s Saga of the Beast, this book may now be delayed until at least May 2020.

Psychic Awakening: War of the Spider

war of the spider (3)Games Workshop just confirmed this Psychic Awakening book is on the way, and we even know the factions that will be inside:

“As well as returning with an epic new model, Fabius is also the cover star of the next book in the Psychic Awakening saga – War of the Spider. As he spins his plans and schemes, his enemies close in on him – the Death Guard, Officio Assassinorum and Talons of the Emperor all have their reasons for wanting to stop Bile. Along with background on the battles taking place amid the ruins of the Cadia System, the book will include new rules for the Adeptus Custodes, Sisters of Silence and Imperial Assassins. There are also additional rules for each of the seven Plague Companies of the Death Guard and a new Chaos Space Marines sub-faction called Agents of Bile, representing the twisted creations of the Clonefather.”

Previously thought to be coming in May if it followed March’s Saga of the Beast, and April’s Engine War, this book may now be delayed until at least June 2020.

Psychic Awakening: Pariah

psychic awakening pariahOnce again discovered by port scrying, Psychic Awakening: Pariah may just be more than just a rumor. This was spotted hitting ports on March 27th one day before Games Workshop’s first big online preview (in the wake of Adepticon’s cancelation).

war of the spider factionsNow we can fill in the factions that have been confirmed by War of The Spider (including “bonus” rules for Assassins, and Chaos Space Marines. The inclusion of the Assassins icon makes 25 factions, and you may remember Chaos already got rules in Ritual of the Damned.

So that presumably leaves Sisters, Necrons, Deathwatch, and Harlequins as the factions that may or may not be featured in the new book.

Veteran 40k hobbyists may remember an out of print pewter Necron unit that was called “Pariahs”.

pariah necron 1According to 40k Fandom wiki: “They are created from Human victims that are abducted by the Necrons, and bear the “Pariah Gene” that severs the bearer completely from the Warp; effectively making them both soulless and immune to the effects of all psychic abilities.”

Faction-wise there is another thread of possibility that we spotted in Psychic Awakening book one back in October, and now that Slaanesh and the Emperor’s Children are rising, it may actually make sense. We’ll talk more about that next time though.

Will we see new Necrons in Pariah, or is this all just elaborate wish-listing and rumor-mongering? We will know soon enough!
