The release date for 8th edition 40k is still a mystery, but we’re starting to see pics of what the starter may just look like.This pic was spotted over on B&C forums and holds more that what you may think. Before we jump into it, please remember this pic has not been confirmed, and should be taken with some salt.

Let’s take a look at the zoomed in version of the same pic. Those Ultramarine colors really start standing out!
Sure it’s blurry but those models look very tall if they are on 32mm bases don’t they?
But that’s only half of the starter, who are they fighting?
Well the easy-ish way to find out is to zoom in a little more. When you do so you see this very uniquely shaped mini right in the center. Have we seen that shape before?
Why yes we have! That looks to belons to one of the Death Guard models we saw during the original announcement of the new Death Guard. The bell and horns are easily identifiable even through all the blur.
So there you have it folks. It looks like the 8th Edition starter is going to be Death Guard and Ultramarines. Games Workshop was giving us previews into eighth at Adepticon before we even realized it. But haven’t we seen the Ultramarines pop up in a previous post? Maybe there’s some truth to this pic…
We’ve seen the video announcement for Death Guard, does this mean there is going to be one for the Ultramarines coming soon? Or is all of this just one elaborate hoax?
