With the recent announcement of Cavill heading new Warhammer movies and TV shows for Amazon, Games Workshop stock soars almost 20%!

It looks like Cavill is really carrying Games Workshop on his (very strong) back with this one.
Let’s take a closer look!
Games Workshop Stock Soars Almost 20% On the Back of Cavill Announcement

This is so wild, honestly; as you can see, over the past five days to the announcement, GW was slightly going down, and then bam, up 1,330 GBX in one day! More so than even in one day, this basically happened within a single hour.
As you can see from this chart, from when markets opened (8:00 a.m. GMT), in about 15 minutes, they shot up basically 20%! It dipped a little here and there but more or less remained at that number all day.
While having a series made by Amazon is obviously going to boost business, we also have to assume announcing it with Henry Cavill at the same time had to help the giant numbers. However, this raises a few very interesting questions. First, they are still extremely early in the process, and even the GW investor page said not to expect to see anything in the forecast until May 2023 at the earliest.
Whilst the parties have reached agreement on material commercial terms, the project is wholly dependent on and subject to contracts being agreed and entered into, which the parties are working towards.
The Company makes no change to its forecast for the period ended May 2023.
This is also somewhat speculative as they have yet to fully finish everything up, as they even say the project depends on final contracts. Here’s to hoping that everything goes forward as planned!
Also worth noting, the official press release came out about an hour before the markets opened, so it must have made the waves around the investor circles, hence why the stock rose so fast.
Who knows, maybe when we see everything finalized, the stock will increase like crazy once again. However, we can’t see another 20% increase in one day… can we?
Perhaps for now, it’s time to start making lists of who will actually play in the new movies and shows!
