RUMORS: A New Battlefleet Gothic Game to be Revealed Soon

gothic walRumors are flowing again, and there’s a chance Games Workshop could reveal a new Battlefleet Gothic game very soon!

We’ve heard from an industry insider that the game has actually been done for a while now (we’ll look closer at that below), and GW even made a post about the game recently. So, it’s not too crazy to think about the game getting revealed very soon.

So, let’s check out the new rumors, then jump into what we’ve seen before! Before we do though, these are rumors, so take them with as much salt as you need!

RUMORS: Battlefleet Gothic to be Revealed at Warhammer Fest

The rumors come from Dakka Dakka.

So, this isn’t a ton to go off, but when combined with what else we’ve seen, it could easily be. As we said, there isn’t much in the pipeline before 10th edition for 40k (other than a few random minis), and AoS could have a hard time carrying GW through the summer.

In theory, the timing would make sense, as whatever they will reveal at AdeptiCon will carry a couple of months; then, Warhammer Fest is in April. However, we have heard that Warhammer 40k 10th Edition will be revealed at Warhammer Fest, so perhaps BFG will be part of the upcoming AdeptiCon previews instead?

Also, some commenters asked if the Specialist team has the time to make the game, but… we’ve heard the game is already done. It seems to us, from what we have heard, that it may be just more about marketing and releasing it and not even working on the game.

So, while this isn’t too much “new” info, let’s check out the previous rumors.

First up, this has garnered huge attention, and maybe GW was dropping this just to see how much interest is still left at this point. Or maybe they are just doing this to tease a big release down the road. Either way, at 23k likes and counting, at the time of writing this, it’s clear that BFG still has a ton of fans out there…

We’ll check out some of the previous rumors we’ve heard before in a little bit; however, we’ve recently heard a huge rumor.

According to an industry insider, a new Battlefleet Gothic miniatures game has been fully done for a while now! However, with all the delays due to COVID, shipping and logistics, etc., this has just been put on the back burner for the past few big release cycles. The word on the street is that BFG is just awaiting a release slot that syncs up with Games Workshop’s current pace of production and logistics.

With this little teaser, maybe GW has gotten enough out of the new product backlog out actually to release BFG in 2023 and is trying to forecast actual production numbers now!

Older Battlefleet Gothic Rumors

When Warhammer Community posted a video on their Facebook showcasing their new “winged hammer” look, they mount the new logo on a billboard full of other titles they support and are currently in production. We’re talking about games like WarcryWarhammer UnderworldsTitanicus, Kill Team, etc.

The video initially looks like a cool way to advertise their new “all-encompassing” Warhammer logo, but there is something more going on here…

But in all of those signs, there were two that stood out like a sore thumb.

gw hiddenSee the Battlefleet Gothic sticker hidden in there? While this could have just been them talking about consolidating all of their lines, it could mean this has been in the works (that we know of) since April 8th, 2019…

The Golden Demon returned in 2022 at AdeptiCon, and Blood Bowl just got an update. So now perhaps it’s Mordheim and/or BFG’s time to shine again!
