These 40k Boarding Patrols Values Are Still All Over the Place

Is-this-Worth-It-&-Value-boarding-patrol-eldar-dark-aeldariHere’s the updated value breakdown of the four new Warhammer 40k Boarding Patrols for Dark Eldar, Eldar, Grey Knights, and Necrons!

These are sort of like small Combat Patrol boxes made specifically to be fielded for the new Boarding Actions. So, expect them all to have a lot of foot sloggers.

This is the fourth set or wave of Boarding Patrol box sets we’ve seen so far, and while the Space Marines one sells for $110, we know they will not all go for the same price as the Chaos and Tyranids boxes went for $125.

Now… the Ad Mech box is running for $140, and the pricing of these four boxes is all over the price.

Updated Value & Pricing: 4 Warhammer 40k Boarding Patrols All Over the Place

If you missed it, we’ll look at the latest pricing and values of the new Warhammer 40k box sets in separate posts below:

Necrons Boarding Patrol Box $125

Grey Knights Combat Patrol 2

The backbone of this Boarding Patrol are 10 Necron Warriors, a hard-to-shift line of self-reviving metal skeletons. They advance alongside 10 stalwart Lychguard – you can also build those models as Triarch Praetorians, but they’re not usable in Boarding Actions. Three Ophydian Destroyers add a lightning-fast melee threat to the mix, accompanied by their Canoptek Plasmacyte.

  • 10 Warriors $50
  • 10 Lychguard $110 ($55 for 5)
  • Ophydian Destroyers $60 (including Canoptek Plasmacyte)

Total MSRP: $220

Savings versus $125 box price: $95

Is the Necrons Boarding Patrol Worth It?

This has insane value, and we’re not sure why the Ad Mech box went for $140, as this actually has more value, but Necron players should be happy! You get both boxes of Lychguard for free, so when compared to the Space Marines box, it has basically double the value.

Even at $125, it will be a no-brainer for Necron players who need the models inside!

Grey Knights Boarding Patrol Boxes 2

The incorruptible Castellan Crowe leads five Grey Knights Terminators – who can also be built as elite Paladins. Backing them up are 10 Grey Knights – these versatile daemon-hunters can be built as teleporting Interceptors, fiery Purifiers, or skilled Strike Squads.

  • Grey Knights Terminators $55
  • 10 Grey Knights Interceptors, fiery Purifiers, or Strike Squads $65
  • Castellan Crowe $45

Total MSRP: $165

Savings versus $110 box price: $55

Is the Grey Knights Boarding Patrol Worth It?

This box has the lowest value we’ve seen so far, and if you don’t need Crowe, you are basically paying retail (well, saving ten bucks). So, if you need every single model inside and haven’t picked up Crowe yet, then it will save you some cash.

However, if you don’t need even a single model inside, it really doesn’t save you much. Regardless,  if you need everything inside, it is worth a pickup.

Boarding Patrol: Eldar $130

Boarding Patrol Eldar 2

Boarding Patrol: Aeldari contains 20 Corsairs who can be built either as Voidreaver Troops or as tooled-up Voidscarred Elites. These versatile kits provide a solid firebase – or pistol-packing combatants – while Jain Zar and five of her finest Howling Banshees dance through the decks, unleashing disorientating psychosonic screams as they cut their foes to ribbons.

  • 20 Corsairs $120 ($60 for 10)
  • Jain Zar $45 (increased from $42 with price updates)
  • Howling Banshees $60

Total MSRP: $225

Savings versus $130 box price: $95

Is the Eldar Box Worth it?

Even at $130, you get basically a hundred dollars worth of value. However, the bulk of the money is made up in the Corsairs. So, if you want the Corsairs, this is a decent buy. If you don’t want 20 Corsairs, then it’s not worth it; pretty simple!

While it does has decent savings, it might be a niche box.

Boarding Patrol: Drukhari $115

Boarding Patrol Eldar 3

Succubi are skilled duelists, making them a perfect leader for the close confines of a Boarding Action. They command 20 Wyches, acrobatic murderers who no-one wants to get stuck in a room with, and have also hired five Incubi – heavily-armoured shock troopers who can clear out whole gangways with their razor-sharp demiklaives.

  • 20 Wyches $90 (They went up from $38-$45 in recent price increases)
  • Incubi $60
  • Succubus $27

Total MSRP: $177

Savings versus (estimated) $115 box price: $62

Is the Drukhari Box Worth it?

Well, it only has $62 in value, but it’s not the worst we’ve seen, so that’s a plus. However, for the most part, you get the Incubi for free, which is pretty nice.

If you don’t need a single unit in this box, it’s not really worth it. If you need every unit inside, it will definitely save you some cash and be worth a pickup. If you don’t want a bunch of Wyches, then it’s probably a pass.
