Welcome back Hobby maniacs! Today Kenny Boucher of Next level Painting is going to walk us through the process to paint Guilliman’s flaming sword!
First off Kenny Lays down several thin coats of red as a base. Once the red is dry, he mixes in some orange to highlight the length of the blade. Completing the base coat is a layer of pure orange along the bulk of the blade.
Highlighting the blade starts with Kenny laying down a series of highlights using Orange/Yellow> Yellow> Yellow/White> White at gradually decreasing lengths of the blade. During this process it is important to make sure your paints are nice and thin and your airbrush is applying paint in gentle layers to minimize the chances of texture building up.

Finally Kenny uses some dark colors in the airbrush to darken the hilt of the sword. The same colors are used to darken the underside of the flames and give them a sooty tinge along the underside.
