A Warhammer 40k hobbyist posted what looked like a massive 3D printed Leagues of Votann titan, packed with heavy weapons, and it all got weird…
Over on the 40k Votann Facebook page, Fernando Aguilar Cabrera rolled out a custom Votann titan walker, dropped the full 40k compatible 3D STL file, and then supposedly printed the thing for real.
The comments section immediately caught fire, and honestly, it deserved every bit of attention if it wasn’t what some have called a grift by an over-eager hobbyist.
Real Life AI Drama, Votann, and 3D Printing Oh My!
Updated December 11th, 2025, by Rob Baer with the latest on this design.
This whole thing grabbed plenty of attention at first, then folks started digging, and it looks like the design was scraped from an old X post from 2024, tossed into an AI painter, and pushed into STL form.
Once the files hit Cults3D for free, people noticed gaps and oddities, then the upload and the original post in the Votann Facebook Group vanished like they never happened.
A few days later, the same group suddenly had a Votann siege tank posted from what looked like the same creator, pictured with what seemed to be the same painted plastic models from the Titan Walker images.
At this point, distinguishing what is real from what isn’t feels like its own hobby project.
Real or not, it looks sick, and it gives us a peek at where this tech might head. Going from scanned art to finished mini in one smooth jump is starting to look less like a dream and more like a preview.

40k Fan Converts Huge Votann Titan Then 3D Prints it

In physical form, this unit turns into something you’d expect the Kin to field when negotiations stop and the plasma starts.

That size bracket feels perfect for the Leagues of Votann, since the faction has been begging for a centerpiece model just like this.
Filling the Votann Army’s Biggest Gap: a Walker

For a faction that kept its tech intact for thousands of years, it has always felt strange that they never rolled out something with this energy. The Ironkin lore practically begs for machines like this, so seeing someone take the initiative brings a lot of hobbyists a little joy.
Votann Surtr Pattern Exo Walker Concept Art:
The Votann Surtr Pattern Exo Walker design lines up with concept art from Graffiti Soul back in 2024, not the original Facebook post that kicked all this off. Either way, the render and the painted concept version both slap, and it is exactly the kind of custom project that makes the Leagues feel larger than life.
Fingers crossed, we get to see this thing stomping around in actual resin someday, because the 40k hobby absolutely needs more giant space dwarven walkers in the world.
The Best Part: These 40k STL Files Are Free
Fernando mentioned that the files are available at no cost (they actually make all their files free). That means this titan is not just a one-off display piece. Players with a printer can bring one of these into their own Kinhold, too.
Final Thoughts on Warhammer 40k Votann Titan
So, was it real? AI-faked? Half-finished STL bait for Facebook likes? At this point, your guess is as good as ours. But what is clear is that the design absolutely rules.
Votann players have been howling for a mid-size walker, and this hits every mark with mechanical fury. Even if it came from AI dreamland or got scrubbed from the internet faster than a Squat joke at GW HQ, it still gave the community a glimpse at what could be.
And hey, free STL files are free STL files, well, until they’re not.

I don’t think promoting a generative ai project is a good idea in a hobby so centred around creativity.
AI makes things easier for us all, but it is not a hobby replacement in any way, well, unless your GW it seems https://spikeybits.com/breaking-gw-just-got-caught-using-ai-art-red-handed/
I think its worth taking the time to listen to the artists and experts on what AI actually does because a lot of it is just industrial scale plagiarism. In that way I agree with Liv.
Spikey bits Could start a good conversation by researching the different sides and writing about what AI could do with, and to, the hobby, OR bring in experts to interview on the topic or something. I’d read/listen to that
Spikey Bits should also credit the original concept artist, Graffiti Soul, on X that the “3d artist” knicked it from

Yes, it seems the person who shared it missed this important detail in his post, and we wouldn’t have known about it until now. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
