The new Tau Battleforce box release date is still TBD, but it will probably be on Black Friday, November 28th, 2025, like last year.
Similarly, we estimate the Tau Christmas box retail price will be $240 CAD$290 €190.00 £157.50, following the recent price increase (see below for local currency conversions).

Is The Tau Christmas Box Worth It?
In terms of raw value, this has it! With over $100 in value, you’re basically getting the Crisis Suits plus 20 bucks more. If you need everything in the box, this is a great way to get a force on the board quickly.
However, it is all big robots. GW is doing themed boxes this year, so if you want to play an army focused around Farsight, this is a buy all day long. If you’re looking for small units, you’ll want to pass on this one.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t get allocated like some recent battleforces and plenty of people get to pick it up.
How Many Points Is This?
Based on the current edition of 40k, we would guess the Tau battleforce points are somewhere around 500 points.
What to Buy Next?
You can round it out with some Fire Warriors or Breachers for cheap Objective Secured units and a couple of Devilfish to get them where they need to go. A Hammerhead or two adds serious anti-tank punch, while Stealth Suits (maybe from the new Kill Team box) or Ghostkeels keep your list mobile and tricky.
If you’re going all-in on Farsight’s aggressive playstyle, double down on Crisis Suits and a Coldstar Commander for those fast alpha strikes. It’s a meta-friendly mix that hits hard, scores fast, and looks great doing it.
