Necron rules seem to be keeping pace with Space Marines- so check out all the codex reveals and datasheet rules we’ve seen so far.
Different sources all over the web have been posting up pictures of datasheets. Compiling everything together for the Necrons, here’s a consolidated list of updated datasheets on the way to Necrons once their big October codex release rolls around. - Deathmarks
- Triarch Stalker
- Wraiths
- Ghost Ark/Doomsday Ark
- Night Scythe/Doom Scythe

Necron Dynasties 9th Edition 40k Rules
u/Drallcom3 on Reddit, posted a link that leads to a picture of a blurry Necron dynasty rules sheet. WARNING, when we clicked on the link, we instantly got about three malware blockage notices so we wouldn’t recommend going there yourself. Luckily, somebody transcribed it all and we managed to take a quick pic of the rules before we got off the page.
Important note: The quote below lists these protocol rules as Stratagems, however, it looks like it is just another special rule being added to the army and nothing that will cost CP.

What Are These Protocols?
You probably noticed at the bottom of each of these dynasty rules lists are these things called “protocols”. There seems to be a split in the community of what these are exactly.
Some say the protocols are Stratagems and some say the protocols are the faction’s equivalent to Doctrines for Space Marines. One thing to note is that although all of the protocols have different names, they say “Get both Stratagem effects”. This could be that each faction is getting a unique Stratagem with two effects to pick from.
However, once a certain stage of the Necron’s protocol activates, the Stratagem becomes super useful as you get both effects. It’s total speculation right now but it’s worth a mention as the Space Marines seem to be getting trait updates as well.
(includes the Primaris Lietantant or Necron Overlord)
Immortals
Looking at the Immortals, they’ve just been straight up buffed. The changes include:
- +1 Toughness (now T5).
- +1 Attack.
- +6″ Range on Gauss Blaster.
Deathmarks
Deathmarks also look to have just been buffed. Here’s what changed:
- +1 BS (now 2+).
- +1 Toughness (now T5).
- Synaptic Disintegrator now Heavy 1 36″ S5 -2AP 1 Damage (way better) .
Triarch Stalker
The degrading hasn’t changed at all from the Stalker currently. But looking at what has been updated:
- +2 Wounds.
-
Twin Heavy Gauss Cannon is now S7 -3 D3 damage.
-
Heat Ray has two basic profiles as before except now with 12″ range.
-
Massive Forelimbs are now a whopping -2AP 3 flat damage.
-
Particle Shredder gets +2 shots, loses a Strength value, but flat two damage (essentially anti-Space Marine).
Wraiths
From what we can see, Wraiths got:
- -1 Weapon Skill.
- -1 Ballistic Skill.
- -2 Strength (although the vicious claws had +1 Strength added to their weapon profile).
- +1 Attack.
- +1 Armor Save.
- Particle Caster now 2 shots instead of 1.
- Transdimensional Beamer now 1 shot at S6 -3 AP 3 Damage (totally different from its current profile).
- Whip Coils now do 1 damage and only have -1AP (nerfed from -2AP 2 Damage).
Ghost Ark/Doomsday Ark Updates
We’ve got the stats of Necron’s Dedicated Transport and widely popular Heavy Support. The good news is that it looks like there haven’t been any major changes aside from the Doomsday Ark and Ghost Ark getting +1 Armor Save. It’s a small buff but a buff nonetheless. If you were holding off on picking up a couple of these kits, you can rest easy knowing that those units are going to remain steady even after the codex.
Night Scythe/ Doom Scythe Updates
- Its maximum movement range decreased by 10″ across the board from 50/40/30. This makes sense because of the smaller game tables anyway.
- The Tesla Destructor got a massive buff going from Assault 4 to Heavy 10 and 36″.
- For the Death Ray, GW took out a little bit of the swinginess that comes from random D6 profiles and made it D3+3 flat damage. They also gave it +2 Strength.
Moving onto the Night Scythe, here’s what’s changed:
- Maximum movement range also decreased by 10″ across the board from 50/40/30
- Tesla Destructor profile buffed to Heavy 10 and 36″ again.
Necron Tomb Blades
So the Tomb Blade statline looks unchanged. We can’t see the Movement characteristic but right now it sits at a solid 14″. As for wargear, this is where all of the changes have taken place and they’re all for the better. Here are the tweaks:
- Gauss Blaster +6″ Range and now Rapid Fire 2.
- Particle Beamer -6″ Range and now Assault 6 (+3 shots).
- Tesla Carbine now Assault 4 (+2 shots).
The Technomancer (New Named Cryptek Class)
Most of you probably know this guy as a Cryptek with a Canoptek Cloak (which basically gives him a 10″ move and Fly). However, there’s a pic of this dude’s updated datasheet sporting a new name.
As far as the unit’s basic stats go, it looks completely unchanged. But that new Technomancer nametag shows that GW is differentiating the different types of Crypteks with special titles. Just something to note!
Annihilation Barge & Overlord Datasheets
- +1 armor save.
- Tesla Cannons now Heavy 3 +6″ range.
- Twin Tesla Destructors now Heavy 10 +12″ range.
As for the Overlord:
- +1″ Movement.
- +1 Attack.
Catacomb Command Barge
The Catacomb Command Barge (using the Overlord in the kit) got some pretty crazy buffs. It’s like GW cast a permanent Might of Heroes on it:
- +1 Toughness.
- +1 Wound.
- +1 Attack.
- Tesla Cannons now Heavy 3 +6″ range.
While some units took a sight nerf (like the Wraiths), a majority of the units are much better off than they were before.
