The Parr family is returning to the big screen! Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and their family and friends return to battle crime Summer of 2018!
The Incredibles premiered in 2004 with a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a call for a sequel. Now, that sequel is finally on the horizon and the first trailer is out featuring: Jack-Jack! Take a look at his amusing display by watching the trailer below!
Incredibles 2 follows the Parrs family, who consist of Bob, Helen, Violen, Dashiell, and Jack-Jack. The entire family are Supers, humans with super abilities. Bob is Mr. Incredible, with super strength (we watch him practically lift mountains in the first movie), Helen is Elastigirl, who can stretch into many different shapes (including becoming a parachute), Violet can become invisible and project force fields, and Dash has super speed. Jack-Jack was thought to be “normal” in the first movie, but by the end we discovered he was anything but. We left the family as they were about to face the Underminer after Dash’s track meet.
The trailer does not give much info to what we will see in the upcoming movie, but instead focuses on some of Jack-Jack’s shenanigans. According to IMDB:
Bob Parr is left to care for Jack-Jack while Elastigirl is out saving the world.
Since the first movie focused a lot on Bob’s desire to be a super hero again, and we saw Helen mostly as a stay-at-home mom who wanted to fit back in, this seems like a switch. What villain could have Elastigirl needed with Bob not? Since Jack-Jack is still a baby, no time seems to have passed for the movie, and we will probably see similar kid behaviors from Violet and Dash as they discover what their super powers really are and how they can use them.
