Tyranids came hungry to the Warzone Atomic GT. Big bugs and cannon fodder were all ready to eat a heaping load of biomass.
Warzone Atomic Empire was run by East Coast hobby maniacs Horton and Twitchell. At over 50 players the event attracted some stunning armies that we captured for you.
Ringing the Dinner Bell: Tyranids at Warzone Atomic GT
The Hive Fleet FTGT took ground by storm with ripper swarms and Genestealer pain-trains. While they ran up the board, they were under the cover of nasty volley of fire from a devourer- kitted Hive Flyrant.
Biomass is the Best Mass
Tyranids didn’t just have to settle for biting into steel Necrons because there were so many fleshy armies to choose from. Of course, you know biomass is the best mass.
The blue from the Tyranids looks almost like they’re glowing. It’s an eerie combo with the deep red armor scales.
With Genestealers and Carnifexes sprinting up the board, ripper swarms and Hive Guard hanging back on the objectives, and an unwelcome Hive Flyrant spewing out fire, this was a tough list to deal with.
Who needs to shoot anti-tank guns when you can have anti-tank arms? Carnifexes can bully some armor if you aren’t careful.
So many shots from a single model…
Hive Guard have been especially annoying for armies to deal with this edition and the player made sure to capitalize on them. Just sit those puppies in the back and have them shoot at whatever the heck they feel like. Don’t worry about line of sight and who cares if you miss? You get a free spore mine!
All in all, this was a stunning army that looks like it came from the deep bowels of space to munch on the forces at the GT. Wonderful shading on the red and a spooky blue skin color is very rare in Tyranid armies. Great job!
Warzone Atomic Empire event may be over but the Warzone Atlanta is coming up soon! Get cracking on your army to have it in tip-top shape for Warzone’s next event. Slap some highlight on those edges and shade those bases. At the end of the day, Warhammer is a hobby as much as it is a game on the tabletop.
Warzone Atlanta will be held on November 9-11th so grab your ticket and tidy up your army. We hope to see you there.
