New previews are here today for Games Workshop’s Space Marine Adventures board game that’s debuting at GenCon. Check out the latest!

Space Marine Adventures: Labyrinth of the Necrons was announced by Games Workshop at the New York Toy Fair back in February and today, we’ve got a little bit better of an idea of what the game is going to be looking like.

Space Marine Adventures Necrons

The game will come with different sets of board tiles for you and your friends to make the layout of a Necron tomb. It will feature five Space Marines to choose from and allow 1-4 players per game. Each player will get a Space Marine to control and navigate through the network of Xenos technology. Avoid traps and age-old guardians that try to stop you.

Labirynth of Necrons

So Labyrinth of the Necrons, which was first spotted back in February, then confirmed by GW the next day, is going to be a new Space Marine Adventures game featuring the Blood Angels, Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Salamanders, and Imperial Fists.

Games Workshop did not provide a release date for the new box set, just that it would be out later this year. Space Marine Adventures with a quick game in mind. Perfect for teaching new players the ropes.

Space Marine Adventures Characters

Warhammer Community gave us a little bit more insight on Space Marine Adventures today.

One thing that does appear to be confirmed is the fact that the Marines in the game seem to match the following Japanese exclusives below:

12 Space Marine Japan

  • The blue Marine is Brother Sevastus.
  • Brother Calistus is the green Marine.
  • The grey Marine is Brother Aethor.
  • Brother Toriad is probably the yellow Marine.
  • The red Marine looks to be Brother Dolor.

The main difference between the two pics is the paint scheme and helmets. We know that Space Marine Adventures will have Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, Salamanders, and Space Wolves as we’ve said before. But when you take a look at the matching models between the two pics, their heads are different.

Brother Sevastus, Callistus, and Dolor have two completely different heads from the Japanese exclusives above. Seeing that this is the only difference we can spot, we think it’s safe to say these are the same models.

With newer players in mind, you won’t have to go into any game/hobby stores to grab a box. You can actually pick it up at all kinds of stores across the Country including stores like Barnes & Noble.

With GenCon coming up very soon, we are already seeing exciting things unfold for the Warhammer universe. Space Marine Adventures was first spotted a long time ago. But it has finally made its way back up to the spotlight.

What else are you hoping to see from GenCon this year? Will you be picking up this board game? What Marine will you be playing? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
