Yo dawgs! Get ready for another painting tutorial that will get your painting and airbrush skills up to the Next Level! Today we will be focusing on getting brave in the beats lab and painting those tough to reach and tight spots on your models with an airbrush.
Our model is the super cool, retro-themed Noise Marine that was previously painted using semi de-saturated tones. Our next step is to use some more vibrant and saturated tones using Pro Acryl green and yellow. The idea is to get the de-saturated paint tones from a previous painting tutorial, using the green to add a strong vibrant tone.
Use your paintbrush first to add two base coats of pure green to the Noise Marine mohawk. The mohawk is the perfect spot to practice our airbrush skills by adding some detail paint work.
Once you’re done with your green base coat, load up your airbrush with some Flow Improver and your original green paint, and get in really close. Go in with confidence, avoiding the purple and black areas, and get some extra green on his mohawk. This is what we are working on in this tutorial, building bravery in your airbrush skills. Don’t be afraid to use your airbrush mid-project to work on a clutch element, like his mohawk hairdo.
Add a couple of drops of yellow to your green paint in the airbrush pot, and get started on the neon green highlights on his hair. We are going for an abrupt, vibrant style of paint, frosting the tips of his mohawk. Be cognizant of your angles to improve your transitions.
