The Mechanicum’s Dark Secrets: Adepticon Armies on Parade

Dmech 1

When the Mechanicum resorts to inventions of ill repute, this is the kind of stuff you see on the battlefield. Check out what was spotted at Adepticon!

The Mechanicum has always altered living things into a state of co-dependence with technology. However, they’ve always been somewhat tame. When times get desperate and some Tech Priests lose their sense of morality, you get these wild creations.13

The Mechanicum’s Dark Secrets: Adepticon Armies on Parade

This army’s basing scheme fits the classic Mars terrain. It looks like these guys are just roaming through the wastelands of the red planet looking for any Xenos/Chaos threats.

Rolling out units from the Horus Heresy, these guys are actually Tech Thralls that you can get from Forge World. They’ve definitely got a more grimdark feel than some of the other 40k models to pick from for the Mechanicum like Rangers/Skitarii Vanguard.

And then we have their dark secrets they’ve spliced together from all kinds of spare parts. Taking Dragoon Legs and setting a Talos body on top of it, this thing would be a nightmare to behold. Especially when you factor in two massive Tyranid Scything Talons flailing about.

While their creations were dodging enemy fire, the Dragoons run interference and tie up anything that extends too far out into the battlefield.

While there was a small force of Custodes and a Castellan, the Mechanicum were definitely the main brunt of power. Great job at all of the customizations to this beautiful list!

What do you think about these conversions for the army? Does it fit in perfectly with a Mechanicum Forge World resorting to desperate measures? Would the Dark Mechanicum have any problems pulling something like this off? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.

We move fast taking pictures when we’re guests at tournaments helping to cover the event for them. If this is your army and you would like the full-size images or credit added to the article, just email us: support AT spikeybits.com
