Top 5 Primaris Vehicles We Actually Need GW

Did your picks make our list of the top 5 Primaris Space Marine vehicles players actually need? Here’s what we’d like to see from GW!

Primaris Marines have been getting more and more support since the start of 8th edition. While they were bare bonesin the beginning, we’re starting to see a decent amount of releases come to the faction.

It’s too bad that GW seems to have been up to this point, overlooking what the players are asking for.

1. We Still Want A Cheap Transport

Players had a gut feeling that there was a cheap transport on the way for the Primaris for a while. However, all we got was an Repulsor with AN EVEN BIGGER CANNON THAN BEFORE!!

While the Repulsor has always been a transport, it sucks having to sink so many points in firepower that you don’t want. GW had the opportunity to strip the guns off of the chassis and make it a cheap hover-bus. However, instead, they loaded it up with even more firepower. Hooray.

2. Primaris Drop Pods Would Also Be Cool

While Drop Pods aren’t exactly even remotely useful in 8th edition right now, we could maybe make a case for a Drop Pod loaded with Aggressors or Infiltrators. Looking at the Infiltrators, for example, they could pop out of the Drop Pod and instantly create an anti 12″ deepstrike bubble on the frontlines of the map (forcing the enemy to deepstrike in their deployment only). Yes, we realize that Infiltrators can already Infiltrate however, you can keep them back in the safety of deepstrike just until you think your opponent is ready to drop his payload onto the board. (GSC is a prime example). We just need to work on the Drop Pod’s basic rules for now though. We feel like if you’re paying almost 100 pts, for something that you’d only put on the table once, you should be able to bring it in turn one. But that’s a story for another day.

3. Hover Predators

To keep the Primaris theme, this wouldn’t be just any normal Predator. But a Hover-Predator with Las Talons. (The Las Cannon variant found on the Repulsor). Really, this thing’s job would just be a glass cannon. If would be cheap, less durable, and pack a ton of firepower. Thanks to Primaris tech being “hover” it would also be able to fall back and shoot.

If it had access to the Kill Shot stratagem, you could bet your bottom dollar we’d see a rise in a triple Hover-Predator meta. (Assuming it wasn’t overcosted like all other Primaris things).

4.  Primaris Hoverbikes

white scar

It’s not technically a vehicle but we feel like these would be right up the White Scar’s alley. If there was a fast Hoverbike unit that could be loaded with the Intercessor’s -1 AP Boltguns and the driver be equipped with the Captain in Gravis Armor’s Power Bolter fist, these would definitely be seeing play. It would be a durable (Probably three-wound) unit that could take a beating and harass both in and out of melee. (Thanks again Primaris hover-tech).

5. Some Kind of Primaris Gunship

UMStormraven RUMORS: Primaris Marine Transports in the Works

We’ve seen the Stormraven perform on the table and right now it’s not the best. So we really wouldn’t want a Primaris clone. We’re talking about a Primaris flyer that wouldn’t have any kind of transport capability. However, be loaded with some serious dakka/tankbusting blasters. This would be a perfect opportunity for GW to give the Primaris a real terror in the sky. Maybe something like a Volcano Cannon LITE ™. It might be a bold play on GW’s part but we’d like to see it happen.

What kind of vehicle do you think the Primaris need most? Do you ever find a need for transports in your list? Or would you rather just double down on firepower? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
