Wyatt is taking us through a different type of tutorial as its more of a conversion. Today he is walking us through Battle Damage on Space Marines. Jack of Clubs Painting does anything and everything tutorial wise he feels needs to be covered. Whether that be painting, conversions, or general tutorials. Today he will show us how to make some easy battle damage conversions.

For his tools, he gets a few things out and ready. A drill with multiple size bits, a hobby knife, two sculpting tools ( one with a point and the other with a ball tip ), and a lighter.
The first method involves cutting in tiny chips or triangles around the edges on the armor and weapons. He highly recommends using a newer hobby blade to keep the cuts easy and clean.
The second method has two options. The first of which, we use our drill bit just to drill a small divot into the armor.
The other option involves heating up the tip of the sculpting tool and pushing a hole into the armor. This results in heavier looking damage. Use this same technique for glancing shots, by dragging the heated tool along the surface to form a sort of textured skid mark.
You can then use both the divot and chip methods to create some cracks from impacts in the armor. Simply place chips around the divot.
The final damage conversion is burnt cloth. To imitate this, take some tweezers and either heat them up or the plastic and carefully tease and tug at it until it is to your liking. Be sure to watch out for harmful fumes!
