Forge World has updated its webstore once again with a new Dark Angels Interemptor squad. Take a look at the latest for Horus Heresy!
Coming from Forge World, they’re giving even more attention to the heresy-era Dark Angels with another Legion-specific unit that’s just hit the pre-order section.
Keep in mind that you can reserve the kits for yourself right now but will ship on March 6, 2020.
Dark Angels Interemptor Squad $66
The Interemptors are the Dark Angels’ pre-eminent experts in biological and chemical warfare. Armed with esoteric weapons that date back to Old Night, they are capable of completely devastating enemy forces. Each model is equipped with a plasma burner and is covered in both Dark Angels and Dreadwing iconography. One model may be assembled reloading his plasma burner. The kit also includes optional components to equip a member of the squad with a heavy weapon – either a plasma incinerator or missile launcher.
This highly detailed 46-part resin kit makes five Dark Angels Legion Interemptors and comes supplied with five 32mm Citadel round bases.
Rules for using the Dark Angels Legion Interemptors are available as a free PDF download.
It makes total sense for Dark Angels to rock plasma harder than anyone else. It’s kinda their schtick. And in a game where power armor is the most common type of opponent, these units are looking like a solid backbone choice to support the rest of your ground troops. On that note, let’s also check out a few of their stats.
Interemptor Squad Datasheet
These guys might seem pretty fragile for their wargear. With only one wound and a 3+ save, you could be losing out on a lot of plasma if someone dedicates any kind of AP 2 firepower. But one up-side to the unit is that, if need be, you can bring a massive squad of 15 Marines.
Interestingly enough, their plasma weapons aren’t the classic plasma you might be used to. Dark Angels have found a way to drop the strength of the weapon while keeping the AP. Being S4 AP 2, this is really just begging to be pointed at MEQ squads of your enemy. And one of the biggest attractions to the unit is that they may reroll all their overwatch rolls AND get a swarm of shots adding D3 to their normal amount.
With all of the rules on the new unit revealed, will you be grabbing a few squads to support your Bolter gunlines? How many Marines will you be bringing in a unit?
