If you want to see more details about the original and take a trip down 40k’s memory lane we have a full flashback post article link here.

052716-Leonatos-174Warhammer Monthly was pretty much a springboard for the Black Library. In Bloodquest art was good, it told a good story, and it was one of my favorites from “back in the day”. Unfortunately, as a comic in Warhammer Monthly, it was only in black and white. The new edition, however, will be in full color, making the update an even bigger deal!

052716-Leonatos-173The original also had a limited edition model and inspired a lot of hobbyists back in the early 2000s.

One such hobbyist was Bobby Wong, who did this diorama with a converted Leonatos model front and center. His diorama was so good in fact, that it won him the Golden Daemon slayer sword in 2002.

Bloodquest Vol. 1

Bloodquest: Volume 1 (Hardback)For ten thousand years, the Blood Angels have guarded the weapons once wielded by the primarch, Sanguinius. Holy relics from a time of hope and light, they are as important to the Chapter as life itself. When one such artefact – the Blade Encarmine – is lost, Captain Leonatos and his brothers are exiled from the Chapter until they can retrieve the sword and return it to Baal. From worlds at war to the very heart of the Eye of Terror, their journey will take them into battle, madness, and beyond as they face enemies within and without, and are forever changed by their adventures.

Created by Gordon Rennie and Colin MacNeil

We can’t wait to see if this holds up to the classic as Daemonifuge did!
