The Borderlands Movie has been in the works for a bit now, but now we know Jack Black is joining the cast! Let’s check the details.
Hollywood Reporter originally released the news from a talk they had with the director Eli Roth. The movie already has a few other big names, so it will be interesting to see how the final cast lineup turns out.
Jack Black Joins Borderlands Movie Cast
If you didn’t know, Jack black previously was in the Jumanji Remake alongside Kevin Hart who is also confirmed to be in the Borderlands movie cast. They did great together with their balance of acting and character, so it will be neat to see how they do in the Borderlands universe as their respective characters.
Jack Black won’t be acting as a vault hunter or villain, he will be Claptrap! This means the majority of his addition to the product will be Voice Overs. However, Jack is great for it. Claptrap is constantly oozing sarcasm and complete disregard for the vault hunters, something Jack Black will fit perfectly into with his style and personality.
The cast is looking great so far and the Borderlands movie might be one of the few good film adaptations of video games. It’s no guarantee as it’s a long way off yet, but a good cast is a great start.
There’s not much on the table in terms of timelines, but it is certainly being worked on!
