knights hor wal imperialNew 40k rules Imperial Knights from the Charadon book of rust -check out what’s new for their Army of Renown and House Raven!

The images of the book were recently spotted on Imgur, with all the new 40k rules for the Imperial Knights in the Book of Rust. They received both a supplement and an Army of Renown in here, so there’s a lot of rules to go over.

With the Army of Renown, there are certain restrictions on the army to get the benefits.

Army of renownIf you were wondering about how to actually make an Army of Renown, well, this is how! Each army will have restrictions but then have access to a bunch of new rules, Relics, and Stratagems.

Freeblade Army of RenownThe Freeblade Lance is a set of lone heroes who have banded together to destroy!

House RavenThey are also getting new House Raven rules. So that means that the house will probably be very played for a while.

Freeblade Army of Renown Rules

Freeblade LanceBecause they are all lone wolves, they cannot have any of the same burdens or qualities. But they then all get the Legendary Knight rule, where you can get two qualities and a burden.

Imperial Knights Charadon Rules freebladeBecause they came from a House originally, you can gain from one Household Tradition. For the relic, the Bringer of Justice can get an insane number of sweep attacks at Str 8 which is super nice.

Imperial Knights Charadon Rules freeblade 2You can stop your Knights from testing for Burdens for only one 1CP is pretty nice. Then if your units are far apart from one another, they can get rerolls for both wounding and hitting. If you want to see all the stratagems, you can check them out here on Imgur.

House Raven Rules

You won’t have any setbacks for this army, but obviously, they must all be from this house.

Warlord TraitsThe Warlord Traits are pretty sweet. Whether you want your warlord to be tougher and repairable, or give them more oomph, you can. Any rolls of 6 to hit becoming automatic wounds is really nice, but not game-changing. While getting a 4+ save on all mortals is very strong. It’s not quite an FNP, but with mortals just bypassing all your toughness and armor, you can’t go wrong there.

Imperial Knights Charadon Rules house raven 2A 72″ range 2d6 assault weapon with good damage numbers is hard to beat. Especially with this being blast, you can mow through infantry or deal serious damage to tanks. Where as the Metalican Eye just really turns your Warlord into an armor hunting machine.

Imperial Knights Charadon Rules house ravenBoth of these stratagems are really nice. Either getting additional strength or adding a dice to your random shots is nothing to sneeze at for a better 2d6 total. A lot of the Stratagems deal with them not moving much, so just keep that in mind. They seem to want a stationary shooty army. If you want to see all the Stratagems, check out the Imgur link for all of them.

What do you think about the rules? Will you be running this Army of Renown?
