Some great 40k army lists emerged in the Dallas Open 150+ Person GT, check out the best Space Marines one!
9th Edition’s meta is still settling, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend.
Top Space Marine 40k Army List: Dallas Open 150+ Person GT
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
Dallas Open 150+ Person GT: Oliver Smith- White Scars
For White Scars, Oliver went for a single detachment with Kor’sarro Khan and Primaris Techmarine leading. Both of these are great support pieces and can even throw down in their own right alongside the best of them. Troops, bring in a single squad of Incursors and 2 squads of Intercessors.
This adds enough chaff bodies for objective taking and pushing/starting up the board.
Starting off the Elites, there are 3 Relic Contemptors both running Twin Volkite Culverins. This gives each Contemptor 16 S6 Shots at 2 Damage with the potential to splash in an extra mortal wound on 6s to wound. These are space marine killing machines, each hit that gets through is a dead marine and with 48 total shots, even without AP, these are going to kill some models every turn.
There are also 3 identical 10-man squads of Vanguard Veterans running Lightning Claws and Shields with Jump Packs. These serve as 30 mini smash captains that are surprisingly hard to take down all while having decent melee stats and a ton of mobility.
Fast Attacks see a single Attack bike with Multi-melta just to add a touch of anti-armor and mobility to the list.
While Transports add 2 Storm Speeders for some cheap and quick vehicles to round out the list.
Overall this list offers a little bit of a different approach but we like it because of their all-in on an aspect of their faction in a response to the meta.
Even better they got great results from the player who piloted it!
