By Travis Pasch | July 16th, 2021 | Categories: Orks, Warhammer 40k, Warhammer 40k Rumors

new-orks-rulesThanks to the power of the internet, we have some pretty solid rumors about the new 40k Orks unit points in the upcoming book.

Before we begin, these are rumors, so take them with a grain of salt. Thanks to these pics on Imgur taken from a discord chat, we have a decent indication of how many points a few ket units will cost. Most notably Boyz, Beast Snagga Boyz, and Lootaz.

We’ll be focusing on the points today, but they talk about some other rules on there as well.

With the book being released fairly soon, we’ll know how true these are before too long! If you want to see all the confirmed rules from GW, you can check those out here. For now, let’s jump into the rumors.

Rumors: 40k Orks Points in the Upcoming Codex

Beast SnaggasJust remember, they are going to release the codex early to people who buy the Beast Snaggas box, so if you want those sweet, sweet new rules, you’ll need to get that box! It has been allocated pretty heavily, so if you want it, be sure to get to your store or hop on the pre-order early!

Boyz Points

Ork Rumors The rumor puts the Beast Snagga boyz at 11 points, you’ll have to decide if the extra Strength, +1 to hit vehicles and the 6+ Invuln is worth the points.

Old Ork BoyOrk Boyz got a decent buff in toughness, but it’s hard to say how everything will work out. They look to be 9 PPM, which isn’t terrible for the stats, but they will still die quickly.

beast snagga datasheetThe extra Strength will really help against Marine armies because you’ll be hitting and wounding the majority of the army on 3’s so the 2 points don’t seem bad at all!

Lootas Points

Ork Rumors Lootas look like they will have at most 3 shots each and will basically have the Autocannon profile on their guns (S7 -1 D2).

They were taken in a ton of armies before, so we’ll have to see if people keep playing them or drop them for all of the new stuff. According to this though, there may be a pivot coming for them now.

Do you think the points seem fair? Will you be trying to get the new Ork codex when it drops?
