Don’t miss our unboxing of the AoS Karazai and Krondys Stormcast Dragons and see how to build both from one kit!
Rob is back unboxing the new release for the Stormcast Eternals and sharing his thoughts on the box. He sees what it takes to get it ready for the tabletop, shows the size of the model, tells you the GOTCHAS to be aware of when building it, and maybe most importantly, how to build both versions from one kit!
We are going to show you everything including the sprues, bits, and of course, the size. That way you can decide if this is worth your hard-earned hobby dollars.

This is the box we’ll be looking at today. We’ve been waiting a long time for these to come out, so it’s nice to finally have them! We were also going to look at the Stormdrake Guard, but Rob has some new cat updates that kept things from happening. However, they are super easy to magnetize as all you have to do are the arms.
Real quickly, one of the best ways to magnetize joints is by using 1/8″magnets. If you need magnets, Rob recommends using the Magnet Baron as he’s used them for years and supporters of our Patreon get discounts there as well!
Sprues & Instructions
The good thing about this kit, you don’t need magnets to make both as you can pop the separate parts in and out. They did a great job with the design of this because all they change out is a few pieces, but they really each have their own feel. With how long the pieces are, Rob recommends using the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement for easier use and to stop any gaps.
One really important thing to note, if you just start from the front, you will be building Krondys, if you want to build Karazai you need to start further back in the book. So before you start gluing, pay attention to what pose you’re building by the number of instructions under the first page. Overall though, the build looks super easy as everything is just a left and right half.
Obviously, it’s pretty big so it’ll take some time but nothing too bad.
This model is quite huge and takes up a really large portion of the table! The sprues themselves are super detailed and they really left a lot of space on the wings and such for really blends and paint jobs.
Cat Dad Problems
Rob’s cat Annie is 17 years old and has a hard time getting around. Normally this time of year he has to get her some cat Ibuprofen, and the Vet is reluctant to give it. So, Rob spent a whole day just taking care of the cat and getting her medicine. So, he wanted to get further in the build, but the cat takes precedence over building a mini.
Luckily she is walking around better now but Rob’s not sure she’ll ever be the same from here on out. Be sure to give your fur babies some extra love this holiday season and keep up with their health so they can have a much better life!
Built Mini & Assembly
What Rob wanted to do was build a superstructure in the hollow part of the body with a sprue and a magnet, so then you could just swap the heads out. He would use a 3/8″ magnet for this. However, you can glue the necklace onto the head and just put it on. The head would fall off while playing without magnetization, but it could work.
Even though this isn’t the head for this pose, you can tell how well it fits, magnetizing would be super easy.
Size Comparisons
When compared to Alarielle it’s basically the same height but the wingspan is huge. Obviously, this isn’t cheap, so it should be big!
