Salamanders Heat Up The Battle for LA GT: 40k Army List

40k-homebrew-army-listsSpace Marines are still kicking in competitive play as an off-meta Salamander Warhammer 40k army list emerged in the Battle for LA GT!

9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players take lists with units that nobody expected. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week.

Battle for LA GT: Michele Forgione – Salamanders 4th Place

Michele Forgione 1

Michele did extremely well with an off-meta Salamanders list consisting of a battalion led by Adrax and a Primaris Chaplain on Bike. Adrax is a Salamander exclusive and has a great statline, weapons, a wound roll buff, AND a hit re-roll aura! The chaplain provides some much-needed support on a mobile body through litanies.

Troops bring in 5 Incursors and 10 Intercessors to fill out the requirement and supply some decent bodies to send a few shots down ranges and/or sit on objectives.

Elites bring in the heat with a total of 9 Aggressors with Flamers to help clear out tons of chaff. While a 5 man Bladeguard vet squad serves as a serious melee threat. A Primaris Apothecary, on the other hand, helps to top off these models and squeeze out a few extra turns of value by healing them.

Fast Attacks, bring in 3 Invader ATVs for some extra mobility and a little bit of firepower.

Finally, closing out the list is a whopping 9 Eradicators, which are easily one of the best-dedicated anti-armor ranged units in the game.
