With a wingspan the same as a 40k Thunderhawk there is some serious value to the plastic Avengers Quinjet, and Rob also unboxes and builds Black Swan / Super Giant expansion for Marvel Crisis Protocol.
He’ll see what it takes to get it ready for the tabletop, show the size of the model (and compare it to the Thawk and see if GW could easily make a plastic one), and tell you the GOTCHAS to be aware of when building it! We’ll also look at the new Supergiant and Black Swan kit today.
We are going to show you everything, including the sprues, bits, and of course, the size. That way, you can decide if this is worth your hard-earned hobby dollars.

Obviously, this is a little bit pricey, but still, it’s the Quinjet and actually giant. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a kit this size go for $200 from GW.
Unboxing & Build The Marvel Crisis Protocol Quinjet
As you can see, this is a massive kit with a ton of pieces. Obviously, when compared with a normal expansion pack, this is just way bigger. We’ll also take a look at that expansion here today as well.
Instructions
Rob downloaded and printed the instructions out, so they are full color online. Nothing looks too crazy right off the bat, however, you will have to install the landing gear with the wheels on. Still, this isn’t really usable in-game, so it doesn’t need a flying stand or anything.
The Sprues
This is similar to the tanks and such from Star Wars Legion. The bits themselves look pretty good and it seems to lock together very easily.
Supergiant & Black Swan Unboxing & Build
Rob also picked up the new Supergiant and Black Sawn kit, and those bits look awesome. Both those sprues look good with nothing too hard to build.
The Cards
Supergiant has a ton of awesome abilities, but with only a single defense against physical, she is a little squishy. Her biggest ability is the Devastate Intellect and while you won’t pull it off all the time, when you do, it’s super strong!
Black Swan is also super offensive and her everything dies ability is super strong and you should be able to pull it off all the time.
The tactic cards are quite strong and with the new Right-Hand Man rule, you can get your force a lot of extra power.
Built Minis
There are no two ways about this, it is huge! Overall it just looks really cool and is about the exact same size as the Maruarder Bomber from FW. For the price, this kit is hard to beat when you consider other prices out there for more than double the price.
Overall the detail is nice and it goes together pretty easily, no big issues.
If you need to clear glue and mold lines, Rob actually uses the Mr. Hobby G-Tool and it just works great and is super easy. If you have giant minis, you should pick one up as it is great on both resin and plastic!
You can see just how big this is when compared to a 40k Chimera here. Overall the wingspan is the same 17″ as the 40k Thunderhawk, but the fuselage is about 6″ shorter compared to 19 lines on the Forge World kit.
Supergiant looks awesome when built up, it goes together very easily, and she has plenty of connection points to hold the mini up.
Black Swan is also a great mini and goes together really simply. It’s a little different from the original artwork they put out for her, but still a very dynamic pose.
Final Thoughts
For the price, the Quinjet is a gigantic plastic kit, and possibly one of the biggest out there. Overall, if you haven’t tried it yet, MCP is definitely worth a play. And if you want a giant kit, $80 is not a bad deal for a flyer this size.
